Mike read 5/6 altogether, 2/4+1/3=5/6. Andy read 7/10 altogether, 1/2+1/5=7/10.
Andy is not correct, 5/6 is greater than 7/10.

Which of the following is the contrapositive of the following statement: If it is past 5:00 p.m., Megan’s office building is not
scoundrel [369]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

A contrapositive statement is one that switches the hypothesis and conclusion of a conditional statement and negates both. In our hypothesis,

"If it is past 5:00 p.m., Megan’s office building is not empty", we shall break it into two statements and show the contarpositive of each like shown below.

Hypothesis                                             Contrapositive

Megan’s office building is not empty- Megan’s office building is empty

It is past 5:00 p.m  - it is not past 5:00 p.m

And thus the contrapositive statement becomes

If Megan’s office building is empty, then it is not past 5:00 p.m.

The density of people (number of people per mile) during the evening rush hour for the 5 mile stretch along a certain sidewalk i
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

a.  \int\limits^5_0 {f(x)} \, dx

Step-by-step explanation:

Since f(x) is the function for the populational density at a certain sidewalk for a 5 mile stretch, a definite integral of that function will yield the total number of people within the integration intervals. If we are interested in the number of people in the whole 5 mile stretch, we must integrate f(x) from x = 0 miles to x = 5 miles:

\int\limits^5_0 {f(x)} \, dx

Therefore, the answer is alternative a.

The square below has an area of x^2+10x+25 square meters. What expression represents the length of one side of the square?
Andre45 [30]

(x+5) represents each side of a square. Since all sides of a square are equal, we know that all sides are (x+5).

Base x height = (x+5)(x+5)

Which is x^2+10x+25!

[(1/(3+x))-(1/3)] / x<br> Limit 0
Effectus [21]
First find a common denominator and combine the fractions in the numerator:

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0}\frac{\dfrac1{3+x}-\dfrac13}x=\lim_{x\to0}\frac{\dfrac3{3(3+x)}-\dfrac{3+x}{3(3+x)}}x=\lim_{x\to0}\frac{3-(3+x)}{3x(3+x)}

Now simplify and cancel out all the terms that you can:

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0}\frac{3-3-x}{3x(3+x)}=-\frac13\lim_{x\to0}\frac1{3+x}

Since the remaining expression is continuous as a function of x, you can directly substitute to end up with

\displaystyle-\frac13\lim_{x\to0}\frac1{3+x}=-\frac13\times\frac1{3+0}=-\frac19
