When you’re mentioning scientific facts, you should always support the facts with credible sources. Science does not show bias,

but humans do. There are sites and articles that provide facts without proper scientific evidence. You should avoid taking information from them. You must be able to identify reliable sites so the data in your work is credible.
What is a credible source? Use sources that end in .gov (government sites), such as CDC.gov. They are reliable sources. You can also use sites ending in .edu. They can be trustworthy, but sometimes the information is written by students rather than scientists. Always find out who the author of the article is before proceeding. Some .org and .com sites are credible, but you need to analyze the contents to verify their authenticity. As you review sources for this activity, try to answer these questions:

Who authored the article?
Is this person an expert in the organisms you’re studying?
What’s the purpose of the article?
Does the article state facts that scientists can prove with evidence?
Are there opinions in the article?
How old is the article?
Do other credible sources support the statements in this article?

What is the difference between the parts of the plot with positive slope and the parts with negative slope?
zalisa [80]

The difference between the parts of the plot with positive slope and the parts with negative slope can be found below.

What is a slope?

A slope in a graph is the ratio of the vertical and horizontal distances between two points on a line. Slope shows both steepness and direction of values.

A slope can either be positive or negative depending on the relationship between the variables being plotted.

A positive slope means that the variable are directly related while the negative slope means that two variables are negatively related.

A positive slope further means that the line moves upward when going from left to right on the graph while with the negative slope, the line moves down when going from left to right.

Supposing d(t) is known to have value D,
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

 • The procedure is: solve the quadratic equation for t.

Explanation:

This question assumes uniformly accelerated motion, for which the distance d a particle travels in time t is given by the general equation:

 • d(t)=d_0+v_0t+at^2/2

That is a quadratic equation, where the independent variable is the time t.

Thus, the procedure that will find the time t at which the distance value is known to be D is to solve the quadratic equation for t.

To solve it you start by changing the equation to the general form of the quadratic equations, rearranging the terms:

 • (a/2)t^2+v_0t+(d_0-D)=0

Some times that equation may be solved by factoring, and always it can be solved by using the quadratic formula:

 • t=\frac{-b+/-\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}

Where:

a=-a/2\\ \\ b=v_0\\ \\ c=d_0-D

That may have two solutions. Some times one of the solution makes no physical sense (for example time cannot be negative) but others the two solutions are valid.

A 50 kg skater pushes off from a wall with a force of 200 N. What is the skater's acceleration?
lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

Explanation:

mass (m) = 50 kg

Force (F) = 200 N

Acceleration (a)= ?

WE know

F = m * a

200 = 50 * a

a = 200 / 50

a = 4 m/s²

Hope it will help :)
