While there is a positive in front of two our negatives, they are canceled out by a positive

Rules of expressions: (++=+)(--=+)(+-=-)

Therefore -2+(-2) is really just -2-2

This equals -4-2=-6

Answer:-6

How to know if you got a one solution
uysha [10]

Answer:

You know you got one solution if when you solve your equation its not for example 5=5 because that's infinite solutions or 5=6 because that's no solution so one solution would be like y=5

Okay, I tried this a bunch of times but never found out. <br> Simplify the expression:<br> 4(b-6)+19
sertanlavr [38]
<span>4(b-6)+19

Easily you would better start with distributing 4 to the brackets

4(b -6) = 4*b    -     4*6 = 4b  -  24

then add 19 to these terms, we get:

4b - 24 + 19

combine like terms (which are -24 + 19), we get:

4b - 5

That's it....

Hope that helps

Which property is used in the problem below?<br><br> 2(x+4)=2x+8
frutty [35]

Answer:

You would use the distributive property.

Step-by-step explanation:

2(x+4) = 2x+8

2x+8x = 2x+8

10x = 2x+8

10x - 2x = 2x-2x+8

8x = 8

8x/8 = 8/8

x = 1

The first term of an arithmetic sequence is -5, and the tenth term is 13. Find the common difference.
dlinn [17]

\bf n^{th}\textit{ term of an arithmetic sequence} \\\\ a_n=a_1+(n-1)d\qquad \begin{cases} n=n^{th}\ term\\ a_1=\textit{first term's value}\\ d=\textit{common difference}\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ a_1=-5\\ n=10\\ a_{10}=13 \end{cases} \\\\\\ a_{10}=a_1+(10-1)d\implies 13=-5+(10-1)d \\\\\\ 13=-5+9d\implies 18=9d\implies \cfrac{18}{9}=d\implies \boxed{2=d}
