geniusboy [140]

Susie will need to reduce her typical intake by 432 calories to compensate for the calories contained in the beer.

What are calories?

Calories is a measure of energy contained in foods.

Foods with high energy content such as starchy and fatty foods have high energy content.

In order to maintain her current weight, Susie needs to ensure that she maintains the correct energy balance.

Assuming there are 12 calories in an ounce of beer beer.

There will be 12 × 3 × 12 = 432 calories in three 12-ounce beers.

A home health nurse who sees a client with diverticulitis is evaluating teaching about dietary modifications necessary to preven
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

"I should increase my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables during remission"

Explanation:

Diverticulitis is an inflammation or infection in one or more small pouches in the digestive tract. After the nurses' teachings a statement that would indicate this would be "I should increase my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables during remission". This is because, even though doctors say that patients with diverticulitis should avoid high fiber diets, when in remission eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables is known to prevent acute diverticulitis.

Question 11 a and b.
ladessa [460]

Answer:

a) 5040ways

b) 576ways

Explanation:

11a) There are 3 different bundles of reading materials each comprising of 4 comic and 3 magazines. The magazines and comics are placed together to form a bundle.

We are to determine the number of ways we can arrange these items in each of the bundle if there are no restrictions.

When there are no restrictions in combining items together, we can place the items in any positions.

Number of comics in one bundle = 4

Number of magazines in one bundle = 3

Total number of books = 4+3 = 7

For 7 reading materials in each bundle, there are 7 places we could pick for the first reading material, 6 for the next reading material, followed by 5, etc. Therefore, we have 7! total ways of arrangement.

7! = 7×6×5×4×3×2×1 = 5040ways

The number of ways we can arrange the items in one bundle if there are no restrictions on individual items to be placed = 5040ways

11b) We are to determine the number of permutations if the order of comic books in each bundle does not change.

For the order of comic books in each bundle not to change and they are arranged in one pile, it means all the comics are placed together.

The number of ways we can arrange 4 comic books placed together = 4!

4! = 4×3×2×1 = 24ways

Let the 4comics represent one entity = 1

The remaining reading materials = 7-4 = 3

The total number of reading material for the 1 entity and the remaining 3 = 3+1 = 4

The number of ways we can arrange these 1 entity and the remaining 3 books = 4!

4! = 4×3×2×1 = 24ways

The number of permutations if the order of comic books in each bundle does not change = 24×24 = 576ways

Vilka [71]

Answer: a) Absence of adventitious breath sounds

Explanation: Pulmonary edema is the health condition that happens due to extra lung fluid which lead to issue in breathing. The patient has pulmonary edema which has connection with heart failure. Effective treatment will be indicated by elimination of the abnormal breath sounds over the lungs of the patient.

So, the client can breathe normally .Other options are incorrect because non-productive cough is dry cough which not a good sign of treatment, respiratory rate should be normal and not less as it indicates abnormality .SaO2 86% air in the room is not relevant with the situation. Thus, the correct option is option(a)

Surgery is a crime, why is this a crime?
mestny [16]

Answer:

Medical malpractice is sometimes a broad category of several types of actions. In some situations, healthcare fraud is considered to be medical malpractice. Usually these crimes involve actions of medical professionals using medical procedures to fill their pockets. Thousands of medical procedures each year are performed by various healthcare providers that are unnecessary and often not related to the issue the patient has. These unneeded procedures are often performed because insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid and even private insurance businesses pay the healthcare facility for longer visits and extra care for patients who need treatment that helps prevent surgery complications. A new study published in the Chicago Tribune explained an analysis of records for over 34,000 patients with surgical procedures in 2010 at one of twelve specific hospitals run by Texas Health Resources. Of these, over 1,800 had at least one complication that was preventable. These complications led to a quadrupled length of stay at the facility to up to fourteen days increasing the revenue of the hospital to a little over $30,000 average additional costs.

For some physicians, these unneeded procedures were due to improper or inadequate training. These situations may not be considered fraud. However, if the surgical procedures were due to the fraudulent circumstances the Chicago Tribune discovered, both the healthcare facility and any participating physicians may be guilty of fraud. Criminal charges would be added to civil medical malpractice liable actions.
