as you should already know, to get the inverse of any relation we start off by doing a quick switcheroo on the variables and then solve for "y".

\stackrel{f(x)}{y}=\cfrac{3}{4}x+9\implies \stackrel{quick~switcheroo}{x=\cfrac{3}{4}y+9}\implies x-9=\cfrac{3y}{4}\implies 4x-36=3y \\\\\\ \cfrac{4x-36}{3}=y\implies \cfrac{4}{3}x-12=\stackrel{f^{-1}(x)}{y}\qquad \impliedby \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} slope-intercept~form\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y=\underset{y-intercept}{\stackrel{slope\qquad }{\stackrel{\downarrow }{m}x+\underset{\uparrow }{b}}} \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}

Jonathan's parents told him that for every 5 hours of homework or reading he completes, he would be able to play 3 hours of vide
gavmur [86]
In order for them to work the same amount of time, you would have to make Lucas work for five hours (so he could have the same minimum time as Jonathan). So multiply Lucas's 30 minutes by five, and that equals a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes. So when Jonathan works for five hours he plays for three hours, but when Lucas works for 5 hours he only plays for 2 hours and 30 minutes. So Jonathan spends more time playing video games.

A committee that consists of five members are to be chosen from 6 boys and 5 girls. Find the number of different committees that
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

150 different committees can be formed

Step-by-step explanation:

We have 6 boys and 5 girls and we want to select 5 members

Out of these 5 members, two boys are selected

Since two boys are selected, we are left with three girls

So, out of 6 boys, we select 2 boys and out of 5 girls, we select 3 girls

Mathematically, we know that the number of ways in which we can select r items from a total n follows the combinatorial formula;

nCr = n!/(n-r)!r!

With this, we have;

6C2 * 5C3

= (6!/(6-2)!2!) * (5!/(5-3)!3!) = 150 different committees can be formed
