It also act as a shock absorber between the two bones and helps in the transmission of force from one phone to another and divide the force across the skeletal system. It also transmit the force on the bones with low fictional coefficient. The articular cartilage are very susceptible and prone to the injury and it lacks blood vessels and nerves. Articular cartilage is made up of hyaline cartilage and is made up of densely packed extracellular matrix which certain type of specialised cells known as chondrocytes. Cell A is more efficient at exchanging substances due to larger surface area to volume ratio.

Cell A is more efficient at exchanging substances with the surrounding environment than cell B because it has the larger surface-area-to-volume ratio. Larger surface area of the cell exchanges more substances with the surrounding environment while on the other hand, lower surface area of the cell exchanges less materials with the environment so we can conclude that cell A is more efficient at exchanging substances due to larger surface area to volume ratio.
