In the elimination method one variable is eliminated from the system of equation to find the value of other.

The first equation must be multiplied by 18 and second equation must be multiplied by 8.

<h3>What is elimination method?</h3>

To solve the system of equation and find the value of the variables, the elimination method is used.

In this method one variable is eliminated from the system of equation to find the value of other.

Given information-

The system of equation given in the problem is,

\dfrac{1}{4}x -\dfrac{1}{6}y =5\\              ......1

Let the above equation as equation 1.

The second equation given in the problem is,

\dfrac{4}{5}x +\dfrac{3}{8}y =10             ......2

Let the above equation as equation 2.

To eliminate the y term, make the coefficient of <em>y</em> of both the equation equal.

As the coefficient of <em>y</em> of  the equation 2 is 3/8.  Thus multiply second equation with 8 to eliminate coefficient. Thus,

8\times \dfrac{4}{5}x +8\times\dfrac{3}{8}y =8\times10\\

\dfrac{32}{5}x +3y =80              .....3

Multiply  equation 1 with 18 to make the coefficient of y equal. Thus,

18 \times\dfrac{1}{4}x -18\times\dfrac{1}{6} \times y =18 \times5

\dfrac{18}{4}x -3 =90            ......4

Add equation 3 and equation 4 as,

\dfrac{32}{5}x +3y+ \dfrac{18}{4}x -3y =80+90

\dfrac{32}{5}x + \dfrac{18}{4}x =170

Hence the first equation must be multiplied by 18 and second equation must be multiplied by 8.

X ^ 2 − 17x − 60
Yakvenalex [24]

{x}^{2} - 17x - 60 \\ (x + 3)(x - 20)

First we put parentheses and in each bracket we put (X) and then we put the signs x² is positive and the 17X before it is a negative q is positive with negative —> negative, and negative before 17X and negative before the 60 —> positive. And then the number that does not have (x) where did it come from, for example 60 came from 20 x 3 or 30 x 2...etc. We can verify this by multiplying the parentheses together and the same number comes out .

Or it can be checked by multiplying the first bracket 3 with x from the second parenthesis comes out 3X and negative 20 from the second parenthesis with X from the first parenthesis and subtract 3X from –20xcomes out –17X .

I hope I helped you^_^

The annual health insurance premium for Ms Everett is $12,304. her employer pays 70% of the premium and deducts the remainder fr
Gekata [30.6K]
Answer: See each one below:

1) Since she is paying for 30% of the cost, we multiply it by 0.3. Then, since it is over the whole year, we divide it by 12.

12304 * 0.3 / 12 = 307.6 B

2)  First, we subtract the cost of the 50 deductible, then multiply the amound by 0.2 because he has to pay 20% of the balance.
1060 - 50 = 1010 x 0.2 = 202 A

3)  First, we find the total cost of the visits. Mattie has to pay for 40% so times it by 0.4. Then, don't forget to add in the cost of 12 co-pays of $15 each.
3660 * 0.4 = 1464 + 15(12) = 1664 B
