Although we do not have access to the chapter, we can provide a generalized answer in that people can still be motivated to buy watches today as an accessory from a fashion standpoint.

<h3>What are some motivations today for purchasing a watch?</h3>

In this digital age, watches are no longer purchased mainly for their functional aspects given that smartphones can more than suffice. However, as all marketing for watches will prove, the principal motivation for watches today is fashion. Watches now serve as an accessory to complete any outfit, and as is the case with diamonds, a more expensive watch will occupy the role of a lucrative accessory, drawing the desired attention.

Therefore, we can confirm that people can still be motivated to buy watches today as an accessory from a fashion standpoint.

AysviL [449]

Answer:

Explanation:

a. In the income statement, the total revenues and the total expenses are recorded.

If the total revenues are more than the total expenditure then the company earns net income

And, If the total revenues are less than the total expenditure then the company have a net loss

This net income or net loss would reflect in the statement of the retained earning account.

Before preparing the income statement, first, we have to compute the net loss or net income which is shown below:

= Sales - cost of good sold - selling expenses - administrative expenses

= $875,000 - $525,000 - $125,000 - $80,000

= $145,000

b. The computation of the inventory balances are shown below:

Direct material = Purchased material - used material

                        = $168,500 - $149,250

                        = $19,250

Work in progress = Used material + direct labor wages + factory overhead - transferred units

= $149,250 + $360,000 + $120,000 - $600,000

= $29,250

Finished goods = Transferred units - cost of goods sold

                          = $600,000 - $525,000

                          = $75,000

The preparation of the income statement is presented in the spreadsheet. Kindly find the attachment below:

A manufacturer has a monthly fixed cost of $70,000 and a production cost of $13 for each unit produced. The production sells for
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

Please see below.

Explanation:

a) Profit Function

A profit function is a mathematical relationship between a firm's total profit and output. It equals total revenue minus total costs, and it is maximum when the firm's marginal revenue equals its marginal cost.

b) Marginal Cost

A conventional marginal cost is incremented by one unit; that is, it is the cost of producing one more unit of a good. Intuitively, marginal cost at each level of production includes the cost of any additional inputs required to produce the next unit.

c) Break-even point per unit

= Fixed Cost / Contribution margin per unit

where as;

Fixed Cost = $70000

Contribution margin per unit = (Sale price per unit - production cost per unit)

             = ($20 - $13)

             = $7

Break-even point per unit = 70000 / 7

         = 10000

So, the manufacturer has to sell at least 10,000 units in order to cover it's fixed and production costs.

d) Production Level of 2000 units

Sales price per unit = $20

Production cost per unit = $13

Gross Profit / (Loss) per unit = $7

So if, 2000 units are produced,

Gross Profit / (Loss) = 7(2000)

Gross Profit / (Loss) = 14000

Net Profit / (Loss) = Gross Profit - Fixed Cost

Net Profit / (Loss) = 14000 - 70000

Net Profit / (Loss) = -56000

Hence to production level of 2000 units corresponds to a loss of $56,000

e) Average cost per unit

Total cost of production / the number of units produced

where as ;

Total cost of production = Fixed Cost + Production Cost

Total cost of production = 70000 + (15000)13

Total cost of production = 70000 + 195000

Total cost of production = 265000

So,

Average cost per unit = 265000 / 15000

Average cost per unit = $17.67

Average cost per unit = $18

Hence to production level of 15000 units corresponds to an average cost of $18 per unit.

irinina [24]

Answer:

14%

Explanation:

Data provided as per the question

Face value = $1,000

Present value = $690

Nper = 10

PMT = $80

The computation of yield to maturity. is shown below:-

YTM = Rate(Nper,PMT,PV,FV)

= Rate(10,80,690,1000)

= 14%

Therefore for computing the yield to maturity we simply applied the formula and put it into an excel sheet.
