A group of scientists is studying the fossils of three different hominids. They find that the DNA of the first hominid is more s

imilar to that of the second hominid than to that of the third hominid. Based on this observation, what scientific inference can the scientists make about these hominids?

Answer & Explanation:

Fossils are an important source of information, however, it's been demonstrated that it's not enough to establish strong or definitive relations between the species. Anyway, as the DNA shows a strong relation between 1 and 2, it could lead to the possibility that these two species are more strongly related to each other. It's impossible to establish which one is more ancient but the 3 is not so closely related and could be a different branch from a phylogenetic tree, for example.

The _____ law of thermodynamics states that not all energy is used because _____. A.) first; some of the energy disperses as hea
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

second)some of the energy disperses as heat

Explanation:

This  second law of thermodynamics  states that in the course of conversion  of energy from  one form  to another in an organisms, this can not be 100% efficient ( there is constant increase in entropy of the systems in the organism)as some of  the  energy is dissipated as heat in the course of conversion.

Thus in  a food chain as energy is been converted from one trophic level( primary consumer) to another( secondary consumer) these organism makes use of the energy to do biologic work. Therefore as this is passed to other organism in the tropic levels not all the  initial energy will be available ,as some has been lost during biology work, respiration , excretion ,movements and locomotion. in the subsequent organisms.

Thus the entropy of the organisms involved increases as energy is been transmitted from one trophic level to another which leads to heat dispassion.
