I’m pretty sure you would have to divide 5 and 30 and you will get 0.16666666 but I would think it would be 6cm/s but I could be wrong and if it is I’m am truly sorry.

A compass needle normally points toward Earth’s magnetic pole, which is near the North Pole. Which best explains why the needle
Mariana [72]

Answer:

Magnetism surrounding the wire draws the needle toward the wire.

Explanation:

Magnetism is a force which is responsible for the attraction and repulsion of objects. Magnetism is also generated around the wire in which current is flowing. This magnetism is stronger when more current flows through the wire.  This magnetism is stronger than the magnetism of the poles so when the compass brought near to the electric wire, the needle moves toward the wire.

An 8.89 g sample of an aqueous solution of nitric acid contains an unknown amount of the acid. If 27.1 mL of 0.581 M potassium h
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

The percent by mass of nitric acid in the mixture is 11.1 %

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Mass of HNO3 = 8.89 grams

Volume of KOH = 27.1 mL = 0. 0271 L

Molarity of KOH = 0.581 M

Step 2: The balanced equation

HNO 3  +  KOH  →  KNO 3  +  H 2 O

Step 3: Calculate the moles of KOH

Moles of KOH = molarity KOH * volume

Moles KOH = 0.581 M * 0.0271 L

Moles KOH = 0.0157 moles

Step 4: Calculate moles of HNO3

For 1 mol of KOH we need 1 mol of HNO3

For 0.0157 moles of KOH we need 0.0157 moles of HNO3

Step 5: Calculate mass of HNO3

Mass KOH = moles KOH * molar mass KOH

Mass KOH = 0.0157 moles * 63.01 g/mol

Mass KOH = 0.989 grams

Step 6: Calculate mass % HNO3 in sample

mass % = (0.989 grams / 8.89 grams)*100%

mass % = 11.1 %

The percent by mass of nitric acid in the mixture is 11.1 %

Dinitrogen tetroxide and hydrazine (N2H4) undergo a redox reaction in which nitrogen and water are formed as products. What mass
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

The mass of nitrogen molecule N_2 = 45.65 g

Explanation:

The equation for the redox reaction can be represented as follows:

\mathtt{2N_2H_4 +N_2O_4 \ \to \ 3N_2 + 4H_2O}

We know that:

numbers of moles = mass/molar mass

For \mathtt{N_2O_4} :

number of moles = 50g/92 g/mol

number of moles = 0.5435 mol

For \mathtt{N_2H_4} :

number of moles = 45 g/ 32 g/mol

number of moles = 1.40625 mol

From the above equation;

number of moles of \mathtt{N_2O_4} needed = 1/2 moles of \mathtt{N_2H_4}  = 1/2 ×  1.40625 mol

= 0.703125 mol

The amount of \mathtt{N_2O_4} present = 0.5435 moles which is less than the needed. As such \mathtt{N_2O_4} is the limiting reagent

The number of moles of nitrogen molecule N_2 produced = 3 × (\mathtt{N_2O_4})

= 3 × 0.5435

= 1.6305  mol

The mass of nitrogen molecule N_2 = number of moles of  N_2  ×  molar mass of N_2

The mass of nitrogen molecule N_2 =  1.6305  mol × 28 g/mol

The mass of nitrogen molecule N_2 = 45.654 g

The mass of nitrogen molecule N_2 = 45.65 g
