Answer:

x intercept : (6,0)

y intercept : (0,4)

Graph: check attached image.

Step-by-step explanation:

First let's isolate y so that the equation is in slope intercept form , y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

2x + 3y = 12

subtract 2x from both sides

3y = -2x + 12

divide both sides by 3

y = -2/3 + 4

the y intercept is at (0,4) as 4 takes the spot of b which is the y intercept.

To find the x intercept we set y to 0 and solve for x

y = -2/3x + 4

y = 0

0 = -2/3x + 4

subtract 4 from both sides

-4 = -2/3x

divide both sides by -2/3

6 = x

the x intercept is at (6,0)

To graph we put a point at (6,0) as well as (0,4)

We then draw a line through the points.

I recommend you use a ruler.

It should look something like the graph in the attached image.

five whole numbers are written in order (4, 7, x, y, 11). The mean and median of the five numbers are the same. Work out the val
Sergio039 [100]

The values of x and y are 8 and 10, respectively

<h3>How to determine the values of x and y?</h3>

The list of the numbers is given as:

4, 7, x, y, 11

The mean and median of the five numbers are the same.

The median is the middle number.

So, we have

Median = x

This means that

Mean = Median = x

The mean is calculated as:

Mean = Sum/Count

This gives

(4+ 7+ x+ y+ 11)/5 = x

Evaluate the sum

(22 + x + y)/5 = x

This gives

22 + x + y = 5x

Evaluate the like terms

4x = 22 + y

Based on the order of the list, we have:

7 < x < y < 11

Assume y = 10

4x = 22 + 10

This gives

x = 32/4

x = 8

Recall that:

7 < x < y < 11

This means that

7 < 8 < 10 < 11

The above is true

Hence, the values of x and y are 8 and 10, respectively

Find the midpoint between A and C.
Sloan [31]

Answer:

<h2>(0.5, 0.5)</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of a midpoint of a segment AB with endpoints at A(x₁, y₁) and B(x₂, y₂):

M_{AB}\left(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2},\ \dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2}\right)

From the graph we have the points A(-2, 4) and C(3, -3).

Substitute:

M_{AC}(x,\ y)\\\\x=\dfrac{-2+3}{2}=\dfrac{1}{2}=0.5\\\\y=\dfrac{4+(-3)}{2}=\dfrac{1}{2}=0.5
