How can I tell if a graph is proportional?

Mathematics

Answer:

If it's directly proportional it should pass through the origin (0,0)

However, as one variable increases the other variable should, if the graph is proportional.

For example, if you double one variable, the other variable should also doubles.

E.g. As current increases, the voltage also increases : 2A to 2V but 4A to 4V.

Answer - It should be a straight (or linear) line passing through the origin.

Hope this helps!

Assume that a sample is used to estimate a population mean μ μ. Find the margin of error M.E. that corresponds to a sample of si
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

The margin of error is 30.22

Step-by-step explanation:

Sample size 19(lesser than 30), and we only have the sample standard deviation. So we use the t-distribution.

The first step to solve this problem is finding how many degrees of freedom, we have. This is the sample size subtracted by 1. So

df = 19 - 1 = 18

Now, we have to find a value of T, which is found looking at the t table, with 18 degrees of freedom(y-axis) and a confidence level of 0.995(t_{995}). So we have T = 2.878

The margin of error is:

M = T*s = 10.5*2.878 = 30.22

five more than the product of a number n and 8 is at least 100. Write an inequality that can be used to find all positive values
hjlf

"More than" indicates addition, and "product" indicates multiplication.

The inequality is:

5 + 8n >= 100

Now we can solve for all positive values of n:

5 + (-5) + 8n >= 100 + (-5)

8n >= 95

8n/(8) >= 95/(8)

n >= 11.875

So all positive values of n include everything between 11.875 and positive infinity, inclusively.

Choose the numbers that are irrational 1/3, 2/7, 2 in the house thingy, 3.624, 0.6 repeat, 0.87 repeat, -5
Verizon [17]
All the numbers listed are rational, since they can all be represented as a fraction, EXCEPT "2 in the house thingy", which I suppose is \sqrt{2}.
This last one is irrational, because it cannot be represented as a finite fraction.

The following is a check to make sure:
1/3 is already a fraction
2/7 is already a fraction
2 in the house thingy = \sqrt{2} cannot be converted into a finite fraction.
3.624 = 3624/1000 is a fraction
0.6 repeat = 2/3 is a fraction
0.87 repeat = 87/99 = 29/33 is a fraction
-5 = -5/1 is a fraction.
