Fibroblasts are connective tissue cells that arise from monocytes.

However, these fibroblasts produces proteins that are used to maintain a structural framework for in the body tissues.

<h3>What are connective tissues?</h3>

Connective tissue are tissues that protect and support other tissues and organs within the body system.

Connective tssues gives structural framework work for tissues and organs of the body.

<h3>What are tissues?</h3>

Tissues refers to a group of similar cells which perform the same function.

Group of similar tissues come together to form organ.

Explain how two body systems work together to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide between the outside air and the cells in the bo
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

The respiratory system and lungs work very closely with the cardiovascular system for the uptake and elimination of gases and the distribution of energy in the body. Oxygen from the air is absorbed into the bloodstream through the lungs. When it reaches the lungs, the function of the cardiovascular system begins, since that is where the non-oxygenated blood is oxygenated and returns to the heart. When in the cardiovascular system, the blood reaches the capillaries in the tissues, oxygen is released, which the cells use to produce energy. These cells release waste products, such as carbon dioxide and water, which are absorbed and transported by the blood.

Explanation:

O2 and CO2 are constantly circulating and passing from one medium to another, so much so that: O2 passes, along with other gases, from the atmosphere to the airways, entering through the nostrils and driving through the larynx, trachea, source bronchi, terminal bronchioles, respiratory bronchioles, alveolar sacs and alveoli. From here, the O2 diffuses through the respiratory membrane towards the pulmonary capillaries, and from these, in a totally different environment from the previous one (liquid instead of air), it circulates throughout the systemic arterial tree towards the tissues; where upon arrival it will enter the cells, crossing their membranes and exchanging with CO2. CO2, for its part, will follow the exact opposite path of O2, until it exits through the nostrils into the atmosphere. Once the inspired air reaches the alveoli, it is ready to perform hematosis, which is carried out thanks to the pressure gradient, of O2 and CO2, which exists between the alveolus and the pulmonary capillary. In such a way that O2 diffuses, in favor of a gradient, towards the blood and CO2, in the opposite direction, does so towards the alveolus. When O2 passes into the blood, an exchange takes place in the tissues (internal respiration). It dissociates from hemoglobin, diffusing from the intracellular fluid of the erythrocyte into the plasma, and from there it is distributed through the bloodstream to all cells of the body.

Which statement is not an accurate description of meiosis?
sesenic [268]
<h2><u>Full Question:</u></h2>

Which statement is not an accurate description of meiosis? A) Meiosis produces offspring that are genetically diverse. B) Meiosis produces offspring that are identical to the parent. C) In sexual reproduction half of the genetic material comes from the father (sperm) and half of the genetic material comes from the mother (egg). D) Meiosis decreases the number of chromosomes by half so that when a sperm fertilizes an egg, the resulting zygote has the correct number of chromosomes

<h2><u>Answer:</u></h2>

Meiosis produces offspring that are identical to the parent.

Option B.

<h3><u>Explanation:</u></h3>

Meiosis is a type of cell division that is generally seen during then gametogenesis of the higher animals where the diploid cells become haploid, thereby reducing the chromosome number of cell to half. This meiotic division ensures that the gametes produced are haploid in nature, so that when they fuse the zygote becomes diploid. And the meiosis also involves the steps like  and indepencrossing overdent assortment which ensures that the offsprings produced are not identical to each other or with the parent as well. So the statement that meiosis produces identical offsprings is false.

The absorptive effectiveness of the small intestine is enhanced by increasing the surface area of the mucosal lining. Which of t
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Option B

The plicae circulares, villi, and microvilli

Explanation:

The plicae circulares are the folds of mucous membrane on the inside of the small intestine. They are covered with tiny hair-like structures called the villi, and microvilli. The purpose of those folds is to increase the surface area for the absorption of food nutrients to take place in the small intestine before the food finally moves on to the large intestine for excretion.

The tiny hair-like projections (villi, and microvilli) further increase the surface area available for nutrient absorption by providing extra surfaces in which the nutrients can diffuse into the small intestine through.

This makes option B correct.
