What would be the result of a disease that causes excessive lactic acid accumulation in the muscles?
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

Muscles would fatigue easily.

Explanation:

The disease is called Lactic Acidosis.

Your body needs oxygen in order to break down glucose for energy during exercises, however, during intense exercise, there may not be enough oxygen available to complete the process which results in a substance called lactate being made. This lactate is converted to energy without using oxygen, but it builds up in your bloodstream faster than you can burn it off causing your muscles to fatigue

Compare and contrast the processes of Mitosis and Meiosis, as well as the products created by each.
professor190 [17]
Mitosis is the cell division of somatic (body) cells. It goes through PMAT once. It starts with one diploid cell and the end is two diploid cells. The outcome is always two identical copies of the cell. This is how we replace any cells that die. Meiosis is the division of gametes (germ/sex cells). This is how siblings look differently. It will do through PMAT twice. Starts off with one diploid cell then goes to two diploid but ends up with four haploid. There is a crossing over moment during Prophase I so that it can share genes (this is how you get a genetic variety for the offspring and how siblings have different features).
