Answer:

1.

  • Mean- Average
  • Median- the middle number in a sorted, ascending or descending
  • Mode- the most commonly observed value in a set of data

2.

Using the example of- 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Mean- Average, (the sum of every value)/10(# of values)= 3.2

Median- 3 (even though there are 2 3s, but add them up and divide the sum by 2)

Mode- 3

3. Well... you could use these data to do science reports etc, ofc in the world of academics, you would need to use this kind of statistics terms a lot. In normal life, you might have to compare the price of similar products and see which is the best to purchase, seeing the value of the median of the entire set of data.

If c (x) = StartFraction 5 Over x minus 2 EndFraction and d(x) = x + 3, what is the domain of (cd)(x)?
Volgvan

Answer:

The domain of the function (cd)(x) will be all real values of x except x = 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The two functions are c(x) = \frac{5}{x - 2} and d(x) = x + 3

So, (cd)(x) = (\frac{5}{x - 2})(x + 3) = \frac{5(x + 3)}{x - 2}

Then, for x = 2 the function (cd)(x) will be undefined as zero in the denominator will make the function (cd)(x) undefined.

Therefore, the domain of the function (cd)(x) will be all real values of x except x = 2. (Answer)

Answer:

See explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&4\\1&3\end{array}\right]

B=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&1\\3&7\end{array}\right]

A. Find AB:

AB=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&4\\1&3\end{array}\right]\cdot \left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&1\\3&7\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2\cdot (-2)+4\cdot 3&-2\cdot 1+4\cdot 7\\1\cdot (-2)+3\cdot 3&1\cdot 1+3\cdot 7\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}16&26\\7&22\end{array}\right]

B. Find BA:

BA=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&1\\3&7\end{array}\right]\cdot \left[\begin{array}{cc}-2&4\\1&3\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}-2\cdot (-2)+1\cdot 1&-2\cdot 4+1\cdot 3\\3\cdot (-2)+7\cdot 1&3\cdot 4+7\cdot 3\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}5&-5\\1&33\end{array}\right]

C. Answers are not the same

D. Matrices multiplication is not commutastive in general, so

AB\neq BA
