Answer:

A) Nighttime was approaching.

Explanation:

Nighttime was insinuated, but not bluntly or plainly shown. Implicit means "Implied though not plainly expressed." SO if we look at the passage and the multiple-choice questions we see that B, C, and D, were all plainly expressed. They were given a signal, as well as were "explicit" because they didn't hide any information. The only information we have that "nighttime was approaching" would be that the "sky was getting dark."

Which parts of this passage from chapter 6 of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights illustrate that Hindley’s wife did not belong to
pshichka [43]
The correct option is A. What she was, and where she was born, he never informed us: probably, she had neither money nor name to recommend her, or he would scarcely have kept the union from his father. This part of the passage clearly tells the reader that the woman probably wasn't from the upper class, nor did she look the part. If she were an upper-class lady, Hindley would have told his father about his marriage. Plus, this is a narrative told by Nelly, a domestic servant and therefore a working-class woman, who can certainly recognize someone who looks and acts like a low-born.

Which excerpt from the passage is the best example of his willingness to be a risk taker?
notka56 [123]

That seems to me to be subjective. All of them have signs of him being a risk taker. B seems like the correct answer because he's on a rooftop drinking whiskey like a dummy. The most risky.
