Answer:

■ A random sample of dogs at different animal shelters in Abu Dhabi shows that 12 of the 60 dogs are puppies. Abu Dhabi's animal shelters collectively house 1,200 dogs each year. About how many dogs in all of the city’s animal shelters are puppies?

➢12/60 are puppies. 60 are the number of dogs, 12 is number of puppies.

If there are 1200 dogs, we focus on the 60. 1200/60= 20

Whatever we do to the denominator we do to the numerator, so since we can multiply 60 by 20 to get 1200; we need to multiply 12 by 20 to get the total number of dogs. Which is 240.

60/1200 = x/20 1200x /1200 =12/20 x =240

Answer:

240

Step-by-step explanation:

1) First you set up a proportion.

2) You do 12/60=x/1,200.

3) You cross multiply and do 12x1,200. Your answer is 14400.

4) Then you do 14400/60=240

Nicole wants to buy a pair of jeans. The original cost of the jeans is $42.50 and he markup is 10 percent. How much will she hav
dangina [55]

Answer:

She'll have to pay $46.75

Step-by-step explanation:

42.50 divided by 10% is 425 which equals $4.25. 42.50 + 4.25 = 46.75

42.50 + 10% = 46.75. So therefore you can check your answer twice and it will be the same answer.

How does the graph of g(x) = (x + 4)^3-6 compare to the parent function f(x)=x^3 Choices:
neonofarm [45]
<h3>Answer: D) 4 units to the left, 6 units down</h3>

Explanation:

f(x) = x^3

f(x+4) = (x+4)^3 .... shifts graph 4 units to the left

f(x+4) - 6 = (x+4)^3 - 6 ... shifts 6 units down

The change from x to x+4 means the xy axis has moved four units to the right (since each input is now 4 units larger). If we hold the curve y = x^3 to be completely still while the xy axis moves 4 units to the right, then the illusion of the curve moving 4 units to the left happens.

The -6 at the end does what you'd expect it to do, and there is no opposites going on here. Whatever the y value is, subtract 6 from it to get the new y value. Effectively this moves the graph down 6 units.
