Leadership has a wide variety of beliefs to the word itself, here's mine. Leadership to me means being confident when everyone else is afraid. It also means standing up for someone when they are being degraded or picked on. Finally, leadership to me is the ability to lead people of all kinds towards one goal, for the better.
To begin with, people these days are afraid to make mistakes because of other people's opinions and ideas. Leaders are confident, they admit and own up to their mistakes, and a leader will always have another plan for when one fails. Leaders don't have to have the title of a leader, a leader could be your next-door neighbor.
To continue, standing up for someone who is being degraded or picked on. I know a lot of things happen on the internet and many social media apps, a lot of which fall under the category of cyber-bullying. Many people say things on the platforms and some people speak out about people who cyber-bully online. A leader will speak out online, in person, and will not stop until the problem is solved or settled. How many people these days would do that without the fear of being bullied?
Finally, a leader is a person who will lead people to a goal, hopefully, a good one. Many people suffer from mental illnesses and speak to psychiatrists or counselors in order to better themselves. Those people are leading them to a life where they don't have to be ashamed of their mentality, where they don't have to feel alone in their fight, and so they would not have to feel as though they have to live a life of stigma.
Leaders are not just people of high power. Leaders can be a teacher, a neighbor, even your best friend. Leaders are confident in everything they do. Leaders will stand up for someone when other people only do it in front of other people. Finally, leaders work with people to lead them towards a goal. That's what leadership means to me.
