In an extended and well-developed metaphor, Blaeser compares the rituals to a loop. In the first paragraph, it is the loops of curly hair that can't ever be brushed and tamed. Any attempt at doing that will cause pain, and fingers can't go through them without getting stuck. She then proceeds to explain that "family, place, and community" are the loop of our identity. We can't get hold of it, we can't unravel it, but we will always be compelled to return to it. They constitute our private "rituals of memory". Those rituals are connected, repeated, and intertwined just like braids of curly hair. If we were to cut them, we would destroy our own identity.

If I was in that nail salon and saw a person stealing someone else’s engagement ring, I will immediately stop the pickpocket. After making sure that the thief has not possess any dangerous weapon, I will slowly approach and ask him the reason for doing it. Meanwhile, I will signal the bystanders to seek help from police. I then give him advice and tell him the consequences of stealing. It is because everyone has no right to go shortcut in life. We need to pay our effort for the result. Next, I will ask him to apologize to the owner and motivate him to be an honest man.

Which is NOT one of the steps you should take when summarizing information from a source?
g100num [7]
The answer is the last choice, or D.

When you summarize, you're supposed to gather the most important points and rewrite them in a shorter and more simplified fashion. The first three choices include mostly everything you should do when writing a summary. Usually when you summarize, it's for a concluding paragraph, so writing an introductory paragraph wouldn't be it.
