Set up two formulae:

For Keisha 1st Plan:

$40 + n(0.16) [n = no. of miles driven.]

For Keisha's 2nd Plan:

$49 + n(0.11)

Make them equal one another:

$40 + n(0.16) = 49 + n(0.11)

Collect like terms:

n(0.16) - n(0.11) = 49 - 40

n(0.05) = 9

n = 9/0.05

n = 180

Therefore 180 has to be driven

before the plans cost the same.

The cost is $68.80

Two trains leave stations 360 miles apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One train travels at 70 miles per hour
cricket20 [7]
S=d/t     ⇒d=s*t
s=speed
d=distance
t=time

The first train :
d=x

x=70 miles/h*t                             ⇒   x=70t  (1)

The second train
d=360 miles - x

360 miles - x=80 miles/h*t          ⇒360-x=80t   ⇒ x=360-80t   (2)

therefore, with the equations (1) and (2) we have a systeme of equations:

x=70t
x=360-80t

we can solve this system of equations by equalization method.

70t=360-80t
70t+80t=360
150t=360
t=360/150=2.4     (≈2 hour  24 minutes)

Answer:  the first train meet with the second train in 2 hour 24 minutes.

Pls help with this problem
madam [21]

Step-by-step explanation:

every triangle inscribed into a circle with the baseline being a diameter of the circle must be a right-angled triangle.

therefore,

angle XVY = 90°.

for VY we can use Pythagoras

c² = a² + b²

with c being the Hypotenuse (the line opposite of the 90° angle, in our case XY).

XY = 2×ZY = 2×17 = 34.

so,

34² = 30² + VY²

VY² = 34² - 30² = 1156 - 900 = 256

VY = 16

Solve the equation for the variable numerically using a
tangare [24]

Answer:

x= 12

Step-by-step explanation

3x+8=44

subtract 8 from both sides:  3x+8= 44

                                                     -8    -8

3x=36

then divide by 3 on both sides

3x=36

3    3

which leaves : x=12

my explaining is horrible but i hope this helps
