Please Help! I'm Stuck!
Virty [35]

Answer:

A. A dangling modifier

Explanation:

The grammatical error found in the above sentence is "a dangling modifier"

A dangling modifier is a word or phrase which modifies a word without stating it clearly.

In the above sentence, the modifier didn't clearly state what happened to the "hiker".

So, that keeps the reader "hanging" or "dangling".

What was some of the opportunities cost associated with not invading Iraq?
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

The 2003 invasion and occupation of Iraq is widely considered to have been one of the biggest military blunders in U.S. history. Its failure to achieve intended war aims is reflected in the fact that 11 years after the operation began, Washington today is debating what steps should be taken to slow the advance of Islamic militants toward Baghdad. Rather than establishing a stable, self-sustaining democracy, the U.S. occupation unleashed forces which may now lead to the country's breakup -- not to mention millions of casualties.

“The Man Who Was Almost a Man” contributes to the overall meaning of the story. Provide specific textual evidence to support you
Flauer [41]

First, specific evidence for sacrificing oneself for the greater good of humanity comes directly from John F. Kennedy's inaugural address. In this speech he say's "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". He gave this speech on January 20, 1961 in Washington. This is him trying to convince the American people to do great things that will impact the country as a whole, like join the military. His argument is very convincing because it put hope in the American people's heart and made everyone check themselves. After winning the presidential election and giving his inaugural address, most Americans supported Kennedy and he was able to get a high approval rate. This argument is very convincing because the people knew that these words coming from Kennedy were genuine. In today's world his request is being fulfilled because we have a rise in police employments, more military personnel joining, and just more pride in the country

Hope this helps?!

Erika was not among those who disliked Mr. Kelp. As point guard, she was the best passer on the team. She was also the only one
zhenek [66]

The answers are given here with short explanations :

Explanation:

Question 1:

Erika considered his class good preparation for college.

While the first sentence reveals she does not dislike him, this is a clear indication of her respect for him.

Question 2:

Her B in Mr. Kelp's class was her lowest letter grade overall.

The lines before this make it clear that she is brilliant so this shows that all other grades are As.

Question 3:

She wants Erika to steal a copy of the test from the teacher.

She indirectly wants Erika to do it.

Question 4 :

They wanted Erika to steal the answers for them instead.

They knew they could coerce her to steal the papers for them so they did not want to study.

Question 5:

Her teammates gave three explicit reasons.

They reasoned that they cannot study for the test and that they may loose the championship and lastly that a team player puts the team first.
