(english literature 50 points) how was the declaration of independence relevant to the colonial era and the age of reason? form
timama [110]

The synopsis is as follows:

The Declaration of Independence was approved by Congress on 4 July 1776. The declaration mentioned the separation of the 13 colonies from Britain, it had a massive impact on the history of America, the end of the colonial regime, and the end of Britain ruling America.

Taking the perspective of the people living in the colonies, were not happy because of a variety of reasons some of them are that they did not have a say in their governance, and in no circumstances could they avoid paying taxes. It took Americans a lot of time and collective movements to agree on independence from Britain rule. The relevance of the Declaration of Independence would be the official steps taken to end the colonial era.

The Age of reason helped in the shaping of the Declaration of Independence, three main points in this are Equality, liberty, and individualism. When the declaration had been drafted, at this period individual rights were unheard of and this is the relevance of the age of reason with the Declaration.

Colonial-era of British rule in the 13 colonies established in the 16th century or early 17th century. The age of reason was written by Thomas Paine, it was a series of pamphlets, this series was popularly called the age of reason. The British came to fear the rise in political radicalism, making the British prosecute printers who tried publishing the book. The age of reason hence woke Americans for a movement of change.

The age of reason provoked negative responses from most readers as well as the British, these enlightenment ideas highlighted that each citizen has a right to autonomy, reason, and the notion of equality. And this was its role in the Declaration of independence.

What theme is developed in the poem bush medicine by konai helu thaman
skad [1K]

A theme that is developed in the poem "Bush Medicine," by Konai Hely Thaman is the following:

- The poem develops the theme of respect and acceptance of old traditions and practical knowledge.

What is theme?

 • First, we need to understand that theme is the message underlying a literary work, the idea an author wishes to transmit to readers.

What is the idea in "Bush Medicine"?

 • In "Bush Medicine," Tongan author Konai Hely Thaman talks about her grandmother, who was a healer.
 • She used her knowledge of plants to heal the women who came to her in order to treat their ailments.
 • Thaman's grandmother would chew leaves to release their juices, which she would apply to the sores of the women.
 • Thaman mentions "wise men," the doctors of modern medicine, who say "there might be something / to my grandmother's cure." She says she hopes one day they will be sure, like her grandmother was.
 • Her grandmother was not a doctor, but she knew what she was doing. She had practical knowledge that a certain plant would treat a certain sore. That is more than the knowledge many modern doctors have.
 • The women in their village respected the tradition of going to a healer, also sure that they would be properly treated.

 • With that in mind, we can say the poem develops the theme of respect for old knowledge and traditions.
