A welder is commissioned to make a gold metal cone from a cylindrical cone form, as shown. The height of the cylinder is 66 cent

imeters, and the diameter of the cylinder is 20 centimeters. The welder purchases tubs of material to fill up the shaded portion of the form to make the gold cone. The formula for the volume of a cone is V = 1 3 π r 2 h , while the formula for the volume of a cylinder is V = π r 2 h .

The shaded portion is equal to 13816cm^3

Data;

 • Height = 66cm
 • d = 20cm

Volume of a Cylinder

The formula of volume of a cylinder is given as

v=\pi r^2 h

Let's substitute the values and solve

v = \pi r^2 h\\\\r = d/2\\d = 20\\r = 20/2 = 10cm\\v = 3.14 * 10^2 * 66\\v = 20724cm^3

Volume of a Cone

The volume of a cone is given as

v = 1/3 \pi r^2 h\\v = 1/3 * 3.14 * 10^2 * 66\\v = 6908cm^3

The space remaining from creating the cone out of the cylinder is

20724 - 6908 = 13816cm^3

The shaded portion is equal to 13816cm^3

Does anyone know the answer to this question? Or at least a way to solve it?
laiz [17]
Since angle A = Angle B, I believe you would write it out like this:
6x+12=3x+63
subtract 3x from both sides, then subtract 12 from both sides.
3x=51
divide 51 by 3 to find x.
x=17
Now to find the measure of angle A.
A = 6(17)+12
A = 102+12
A = 114, angle A is 114 degrees.

An awning is in the form of an arc 6 inches high and 72 inches wide. Find the radius of the circle containing the arc.
Ainat [17]

Answer:

 • 111 in

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the remainder of the diameter is x.

Use the intersecting chords theorem:

 • 6*x = (72/2)*(72/2)
 • 6x = 1296
 • x = 216

The diameter:

 • d = 6 + x = 6 + 216 = 222 in

The radius:

 • r = 222/2 = 111 in

How do you do 111? Explanation pls
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

B. 2 3/5

Step-by-step explanation:

how i would solve this expression is start out by converting "4 1/3" into an improper fraction.

4 1/3 is equivalent to 13/3

next to find out how much water melissa used we have to multiply 3/5 by our improper fraction giving us this expression:

13/3 x 3/5

solving a fraction is simple, multiply the numerator by numerator,

and denominator by denominator.

so, we will end up with

39/15 or simplified to 2 3/5

hope this helps :D
