Mathematics

4 0

Answer:

  -5.251

Step-by-step explanation:

There are an infinite number of rational numbers between these values. One of them is ...

  -5.251

__

Any value between these limits that is a terminating or repeating decimal will be a rational number of the kind you're looking for. For example, ...

  -5 25/99 = 5.252525...(2-digit repeat)

is a rational number in the required range. So is -5 25/98, which has a 42-digits repeating decimal fraction.

Martin uses 5/8 of a gallon of paint to cover 4/5 of a wall. What is the unit rate at which Martin paints in walls per gallon?
Reika [66]
You can easily solve this by setting up a proportion with walls on the top and paint on the bottom.  First we can find the decimal equivalent of each of those fractions to make things easier.  5/8 = .625 and 4/5 = .8.  \frac{w}{p} : \frac{.8}{.625}= \frac{x}{1}.  What this is asking is "if 4/5 (.8) of a wall is covered by 5/8 (.625) of a gallon of paint, how many walls (x) will 1 gallon of paint cover?"  If we cross multiply we have .625x = .8 and x = 1.28 which is the same as 1 7/25 walls/1 gallon, choice C.

A 120-centimeter-long board is cut into two pieces. One piece is 5 times as long as the other piece.
sweet-ann [11.9K]
The long piece of the board is 100 cm and the shorter board is 20. you can solve this by dividing 120 by 6 since u need to have a piece that is 5x a piece which is a total of 6 pieces. Then multiply that number by 5 and that is your longest board.

A diagram must be associated with the question above. Based on what I researched, this is what I got.

The blue sector of the circle is 120 degrees.

area of the blue sector = 1/3  of pi * 2^2
                                     = 4.19cm2

I hope this answer helps.
