Call the length a, the width b

Perimeter = (a+b) x 2

And since we have (a+b) x 2 = 43.6, a + b = 43.6 : 2 = 21.8

a + b = 21.8
a - b = 7

-> a + b + (a - b) = 28.8
2a = 28.8
a = 14.4
b = 7.4

So, the area of the rectangle is 14.4 x 7.4 = 106.56

A map using a scale of 1 inch:5 miles shows a section of land with an area of 3.2 inches what is the actual area of the section
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

16 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

A scale drawing is a reduced form in terms of dimensions of an original image / building / object

the scale drawing is usually reduced at a constant dimension

scale of the drawing = original dimensions / dimensions of the scale drawing

Actual area = 3.2 x 5 = 16 miles

Please help I'm Timed Will Name Brainliest if Correct.
Reptile [31]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

We can see that Function A's y coordinate doubles every time. The function A = f(x) = 5(2)^x. It is an exponential growth function, and therefore y can never be 0. This means that A does not have an x-intercept.

Function B is a rational function. x cannot be 0, since that would result in an undefined number. This also means that B does not have an x-intercept.

Alex has five rolls of shelf paper that is 800 cm long.She wants to use the to line the 1-meter wide shelves in her pantry. How
jeyben [28]

Answer:

Alex can line eight 1-meter wide with the paper.

Step-by-step explanation:

- Alex has five rolls of shelf paper that is 800cm.

- She wants to use the paper to line the 1-meter wide shelves in her pantry.

- We want to determine how many 1-meter wide she can line with the paper.

- First, we know that

100cm = 1m

- we need to determine how many meters are in 800cm.

100cm = 1m

800cm = xm

100x = 800

x = 800/100

= 8

Therefore, 800cm is equivalent to 8m

Alex can line eight 1-meter wide with the paper.

f(3) is x = 3

<u>Step 2: Evaluate</u>

  1. Substitute in <em>x</em>:                    f(3) = -5(3) - 2
  2. Multiply:                               f(3) = -15 - 2
  3. Subtract:                              f(3) = -17
