For this equation, I used the order of operations- (PEMDAS).
No parentheses, but the 2 above the 2 is an exponent, so I did 2 • 2 which = 4
(New equation is now, 8 •/• 4 + 1)
Next step is multiplication which there is none, so we move on to division. 8 •/• by 4 = 2
(New equation is now, 2 + 1) Next would be subtraction but again there is none, so last is addition. 2 + 1 = 3
Your final answer is 3

Tell whether (-4, 3) is a solution of the system of linear inequalities.
sergey [27]
<h3>Answer:  No, it is not a solution</h3>

Explanation:

Refer to the diagram below. The point (-4,3) marked in red is outside the blue shaded region. So it doesn't make both inequalities true, and therefore not considered a solution.

In contrast, a point like (-5,1) is a solution as it is in the shaded region.

Put another way, the set of all solution points must be below both the solid line and the dashed line. Points can be on the solid line, but must be adjacent to the blue shaded region. The fact (-4,3) is on the solid line doesn't count because its not below the dashed line.

You can use the vertical angles theorem to find the value of x.

2x+84=5x
84=3x
x=28
Now, since <TSV and >PSV are linear pairs, you can add PSV and TSV. To do this, you have to find the value of PSV.
PSV=5x
x=28, so PSV = 5(28)
PSV=140°.
Now, find TSV.
180°-140°=40°

m<TSV=40°, or B.
