The American revolution inspired the idea that a country should secede and gain independence if they believe that the ruler of the country is a malevolent tyrant. The Civil War inspired hte idea that the country needs to remain unified even if the people don't agree and that we can always find a way to keep it together. They are opposite and at the time when they were created they suited the needs of the people.
In 1931 Japan invaded the Chinese in search of raw materials for its growing industry. By 1937 a large section of China was controlled by Japan and war crimes against the Chinese had become fairly common. Many believe that this ended up contributing to the isolation of Japan. This incident is said to have not been authorized by the Japanese government but many say the Japanese troops decided themselves.
1. Full disarming. Germany basically agreed to have no standing army whatsoever.
2. Germany lost over half of it's territory in the treaty.
3. Germany had to pay A LOT of money in damages + interest.
