(GIVING BRAINLYIST) Read the excerpt from Votes for Women:

English

Answer:

Women were going to do anything for them to get voted and they didn't quit until they had the same thing as men like working like men and other things to. They wanted to do everything that men do.

Explanation:

The parade was led by a human rights lawyer riding a white horse, and behind her women marched in costumes reflecting the nations that had already given women the vote. Multiple floats, bands, brigades, and costumed women paraded on through Washington, D.C. However, during the parade of protest, some men attacked the women and behaved poorly, and the police did nothing to stop it. The actions of the men led to an inquiry, which brought women's suffrage significant public awareness.

This group of women held marches and hunger strikes. They were also the first organization to organize a picket of the White House in January 1917. While their choice to picket during World War I angered some, their methods did make an impact and paved the way for women's suffrage to become law.

What evidence do you find in the story early autumn to suggest that Mary regretted losing ‘Bill’ more than he regretted losing h
kicyunya [14]

First, it signals the end of Bill and Mary's attempt at conversation, startling Mary into the present.

If the lights symbolize truth or revelation, then their sudden brightness represents the irrefutable passage of time and the impossibility of ever recovering or re-doing the past. That the lights run "the whole length of Fifth Avenue" further emphasizes the completeness of this truth; there is no way to escape the passage of time.

It's worth noting that the lights turn on right after Bill says, "You ought to see my kids" and grins. It's a surprisingly unguarded moment, and it's the only expression of genuine warmth in the story. It's possible that his and Mary's children might represent those lights, being the brilliant chains that link the past with an ever-hopeful future.
