A third species of kangaroo rat is introduced into the habitats of the two species from Question 5. If this third species is bio
DochEvi [55]

Both species would share both habitats because their niches would be different and competition would thus be eliminated.

A habitat is an area where an organism/species makes its home, which can be represented by all the resources present in that area. Conversely, a niche is the role of a particular species/organism within an environment. In consequence, a niche refers to the position of the organism/species within its community as a consequence of its adaptations, which is unrelated to the physical area it occupies.

In other words, the term habitat indicates how the environment impacts the organism/species while the term niche indicates how the organism/species impacts the environment.

Competitive exclusion indicates that two or more species can't have the same niche in a particular habitat and coexist. In this case, both species can coexist because they share habitats but their niches are different (it occurs when species have restricted diets and therefore their niches do not overlap).

Photosynthesis and cellular respiration review
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

Photosynthesis converts light energy to chemical energy in plants and cellular respiration converts biochemical energy from nutrients in organisms.

Explanation:

  • Photosynthesis is a process that occurs in green plant that synthesizes food for plants from the use of sunlight and series of chemical reactions.
  • Similarly cellular respiration also does the same but it uses nutrients consumed from the body to produce energy for different cellular activities.
  • Cellular respiration converts energy into ATP form in organisms.
  • Photosynthesis uses sunlight where as cellular respiration needs oxygen to prepare food and energy.

Trigeminal Neuralgia

This is a chronic pain disorder that affects the trigeminal nerve. This can be divided into typical and atypical trigeminal neuralgia. The typical form will have an episodes of severe, shock like pain on the unilateral side of the face usually lasting for seconds to few minutes. The atypical form will have a burning sensation that can be less severe. Episodes can be trriggered by touch and chewing. The cause is still unknown  but believed to be due to loss of myelin sheath in the trigeminal nerve.
