Answer:

Kevin must add 1.2 gallons of 100% lemon juice to make a mixture of 50% lemon and 50% lime.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Kevin wants to make a mixture that is 50% lemon juice and 50% lime juice. 100% lesson juice should he add to a juice mixture that is 40% lemon juice and 60% lime juice to make 6 gallons of the 50% lemon 50% lime juice mixture.

To find : How much 100% lesson juice should he add to a juice mixture.

Solution :

According to question, we wants to make mixture where lemon = lime

We have to make 6 gallons, where

40% lemon juice require to make 6 gallon

i.e,  40\% \text{ of } 6= 0.4 \times 60=2.4

and 60% lime juice require to make 6 gallon

i.e,  60\% \text{ of } 6= 0.6 \times 60=3.6

Now, to make them equal subtract both of them

\Rightarrow 3.6-2.4=1.2

Therefore, he must add 1.2 gallons of 100% lemon juice to make a mixture of 50% lemon and 50% lime.

The number of gallons of gas Connie’s car, g, uses is directly proportional with the number of miles she drives, m. Last week, s
stellarik [79]

The equation which represent the problem is 14.5 = 469.8k.

<h3>What is Equation?</h3>

An equation is a mathematical statement with an 'equal to =' symbol between two expressions that have equal values.

Here, As given in question

The number of gallons of gas Connie’s car, g, uses is directly proportional with the number of miles she drives, m.

                                    g α m

                                     g = km     ............(i)

g = 14.5 gallons of gas          m = 469.8 miles

                                  14.5 = k X 469.8

                                  14.5 = 469.8k

Thus, the equation which represent the problem is 14.5 = 469.8k.

Somebody help me on A. And. B. Pleaseeee
irakobra [83]

Answer:

a. dbc = 66, ABC = 132

b. abd = 52, dbc= 52

Step-by-step explanation:

just remember that bisects means that the angles on either side of the middle line are equal. so for a, dbc = abd and ABC = 2x 66

for b, abd and dbc are equal, so both of them are just 104 divide by two

The center of an ellipse is (-9,3). one focus is (-7,3). The major axis is 24 units long. What is the equation of the ellipse in
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

\frac{(x+9)^2}{144}+\frac{(y-3)^2}{140}=1

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard equation of the ellipse is

\frac{(x-\alpha)^2}{a^2}+\frac{(y-\beta)^2}{b^2}=1\;\cdots(i)

where, (\alpha, \beta) is the center and a,b are semi axes of the ellipse along x-axis and y-axis respectively.

Given that, (\alpha, \beta)=(-9,3) and major axis, 2a=24.

So, semi major axis, a=24/2=12.

Now, focus of the ellipse is (-7,3).

Let e be the eccentricity of the ellipse,

So, e=\frac c a

where c is the distance between the center and focus of the ellipse.

By using the distance formula,

c=\sqrt{(-9-(-7))^2+(3-3)^2}=2

\Rightarrow e=\frac {2}{12}=\frac{1}{6}\;\cdots(ii)

Again, the relationship among a,b and e is

e=\sqrt{1-\frac{b^2}{a^2}

\Rightarrow \frac{1}{6}=\sqrt{1-\frac{b^2}{(12)^2} [from equation (ii)]

\Rightarrow \frac{1}{36}=\sqrt{1-\frac{b^2}{144} [squaring on both the sides]

\Rightarrow \frac{b^2}{144}=1-\frac{1}{36}

\Rightarrow b^2=\frac{35}{36}\times144=140

So, the value of square of semi-minir axis, b^2=140.

Hence, from equation (i), the equation of required ellipse is standard form is

\frac{(x-(-9))^2}{144}+\frac{(y-3)^2}{140}=1

\Rightarrow \frac{(x+9)^2}{144}+\frac{(y-3)^2}{140}=1
