According to Newmark, the history of translation studies is marked by the conflict between the "inherent impossibility" of trans

lation and its "absolute necessity".
in your own words, write a paragraphe (150-250 words), to explain this conflict. You should give somes examples to illustrate your opinion.

The above question wants to analyze your writing and acting skills. By the way, I can't write an answer for you, but I'll show you how to write it.

The conflict shown in the question occurs because the translation is unable to convey the exact message of the text in its original language. This is because translation always uses adaptation and concept suppression between languages.

However, even within this impossibility, translation is necessary to keep texts alive and move them through new cultures. An example of this is Chinese texts, which have concepts and ideas very intrinsic to Chinese culture, which are impossible to explain in another language but have meanings that must be understood in other cultures.

Once you understand this, you can write your staple.

Steps to write the paragraph.

 • Start with a topic sentence where you will determine the subject to be addressed.
 • Present your argument on the matter.
 • Provide evidence to support your argument.
 • Complete your positioning and end the paragraph.

"Hi Joey. My name is Lizzie. Where are you from?" I said trying to distract him from whats making him cry.

"I-I'm from L-Liverpool" he said stuttering.

Consider the last 3 stanzas of the poem. What effect does this conclusion produce in the overall poem?
zubka84 [21]

Answer and explanation:

The final stanzas of the poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T. S. Eliot bring a sad and hard conclusion to the poem. The poem as a whole is a pessimistic one. The speaker, Prufrock, is an unsatisfied man both carnally and spiritually. He is a loner, incapable of establishing relationships and connections with other human beings. He does want and wish for it. But even in his imagination, women despise him and criticize the way he looks and acts. He clearly has a self-esteem issue that, instead of being addressed and treated, only grew worse with time. Now it completely prevents him from living a normal life.

The conclusion of the poem is even more pessimistic. The speaker does not believe he will ever be happy. He compares women and the happiness they represent to mermaids. As we know, in Greek mythology, mermaids would sing to sailors with the purpose of enchanting them. Sailors who heard their song would end up drowning. Prufrock thinks he will drown as well, but when reality wakes him up from the mermaid's dream. The mermaids, after all, do not sing for him. He watches himself growing older, stranger, weaker, more coward and less desirable.

Premise

A premise is a statement or a proposition that offers support for a particular conclusion. The support or the reason it gives will be enough to make the conclusion acceptable. A premise is the basis of the inference that will lead to the conclusion.
