(ASAP) Plants, bison, elk, and wolves are all members of an ecosystem. The bison and elk are both primary consumers in this ecos

ystem, while the wolves are a predator. Over time, the bison completely disappear. Give an example of how the ecosystem may respond to this change, and explain how this relates to both resiliency and biodiversity.

If one of the primary consumers in an ecosystem disappears, there would be predatory pressure on the remaining primary consumers and the plant population will flourish more.

Ecosystem interaction

In an ecosystem consisting of plants, bison, elk, and wolves in which the bison and elk are primary consumers and the wolves are predators, both the bison and elk depend on the plant that grows in the ecosystem.

The wolves, on the other hand, depend on the bison and the elk for food.

Now, assuming that the bison disappear over time, this will put less grazing pressure on the plants in the ecosystem and allow them to flourish. This, however, leaves the elk as the only primary consumer and prey in the ecosystem.

Thus, predatory pressure will increase on the elk while competition for food would be more severe among the wolves.

If a cell contains a set of duplicated chromosomes, does it contain any more genetic information than the cell before the chromo
zmey [24]

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

When the set of chromosomes are duplicated, it means the chromosomes will be double the number.

However the genetic information will not change. It will remain the same.

Duplication of chromosomes is usually occurs among the interphase stage of mitosis where chromosomes will duplicate to ensure the formation of two identical daughter cells.

In these cells there will be no addition or variation in genetic information.
