If one of the primary consumers in an ecosystem disappears, there would be predatory pressure on the remaining primary consumers and the plant population will flourish more.

Ecosystem interaction

In an ecosystem consisting of plants, bison, elk, and wolves in which the bison and elk are primary consumers and the wolves are predators, both the bison and elk depend on the plant that grows in the ecosystem.

The wolves, on the other hand, depend on the bison and the elk for food.

Now, assuming that the bison disappear over time, this will put less grazing pressure on the plants in the ecosystem and allow them to flourish. This, however, leaves the elk as the only primary consumer and prey in the ecosystem.

Thus, predatory pressure will increase on the elk while competition for food would be more severe among the wolves.

2. The best way to determine if you are using a halogenated solvent is to:
goldfiish [28.3K]
The best way to determine the presence of halogens is by adding a silver nitrate solution to the solvent. This is because all halogens, except for fluorine, produce a precipitate with silver nitrate solution.Chlorine produces a white precipitate, bromine produces a pale cream colored precipitate and iodine produces a yellow colored precipitate.
If further testing is required, concentrated sulfuric acid may be added. The sulfuric acid will produce misty fumes with fluorine and chlorine, brown fumes with bromine and purple fumes with iodine.

hope this helped :)

Write two functions of Endoplasmic and reticulum
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

there are two types of endoplasmic reticulum, rough endoplasmic reticulum and smooth endoplasmic reticulum, the rough endoplasmic reticulum is the site of protein manufacture( because it has ribosomes) whereas the smooth endoplasmic reticulum manufactures fat molecules or lipids. these lipids helps in membrane biogenesis, which is the process of formation of plasma membrane. the main function of the endoplasmic reticulum is that it serves as channel for transportation of proteins etc between various cells or a cell organelle and another cell. In the liver, detoxification of poisons take place due to the help of smooth endoplasmic reticulum.
