This is why the celebration of st. Patrick's day is connected to Ireland's struggle:

St. Patrick's day was not a day of celebration, it was a day of to remember St. Patrick, an important figure for Christianity in Ireland during the 5h century. It was a day where Irish people were encouraged to work together in the preservation of Irish language and culture against the anglicisation of the country.

The struggle comes because now St. Patrick's day is a celebration around the world where people drink a lot of alcohol and party but it has nothing to do to the original celebration.

When is St. Patrick's day celebrated?

St. Patrick's day is celebrated during March 17th because it was the day of the death of St. Patrick, who is consider one of the patron saints of Ireland.

St. Patrick's day is related to the color green because of the flag of Ireland, which is green, orange and white.
