Explanation:

From the onset of the war between Ukraine and Russia, tension has remained high in the whole world. This invasion by Russia on Ukraine has resulted into sanctions by the western Europe leading to the disruption of oil markets affecting Russia as a whole which of course is a major player in the petroleum industry.

Due to this build up, and especially with the continued tiff, United Sates that has always relied on petroleum imports from Russia has since blocked importation of such products leading to skyrocketing prices which are expected to continue as the country rushes to move with speed to combat the shortages.
