t a total of $30 to buy a total of 22 packets of wafers of the two varieties.
Part A: Write a system of equations that can be solved to find the number of packets of strawberry wafers and the number of packets of chocolate wafers that Devon and his friends bought at the carnival. Define the variables used in the equations. (5 points)

A.
s=number of strawberry wafers
c=number of chocolate wafers

3s+1c=30
s+c=22

B.
multiply 2nd equation by -1 to do elimination
add to the first equation

3s+1c=30
-s-c=-22 +
2s+0c=8

2s=8
divide by 2
s=4

sub back
s+c=22
4+c=22
c=18

I used elimiation because it seemed right for this one

I can also do subsitution

3s+1c=30
s+c=22
minus s both sides in 2nd equation

c=22-s
sub for c in other equation
3s+22-s=30
2s+22=30
minus 22 both sides
2s=8
divide by 2
s=4
and now
c=22-s
c=22-4
c=18

substiotion because it's easier for some people to see

18 chocolate
4 strawberry

Y - 6 = 4(1 - 4)
klasskru [66]

y - 6 = 4(1 - 4)

y - 6 = 4 - 16

y - 6 = -12

y = -12 + 6

y = -6

This is a horizontal line through the point (0, -6). See below.

A) Estimate 49% of 162.
b) Use mental math to calculate 49% of 162.
love history [14]
49% = 50% - 1%

So half of 162 is 81. 1% of 162 is about 2

So 49% ~ 81 - 2 ~79

(actual value is 79.38)
