\qquad\qquad\huge\underline{{\sf Answer}}♨

Let's solve ~

Assume width of rectangle be " x ", length = 3×width + 8 = 3x + 8 ~

Now, Perimeter of rectangle is :

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:2(l + w)  = 56

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:2(3x + 8 + x)  = 56

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:2(4x + 8)  = 56

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:4x + 8  = 56 \div 2

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:4x + 8  = 28

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:4x  = 28 - 8

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:x = 20\div 4

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:x =5 \: cm

Hence, width = x = 5 cm

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:l = 3w + 8

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:l = 3(5)+ 8

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:l = 15+ 8

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:l =23 \:cm

And, length = 26 cm

Write an equation for the function
Mila [183]

Answer:

  m(u) = -0.25(u +2)² +1    or    -0.25u² -u

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation is fairly easily written in vertex form, as the vertex point is on a grid line intersection at (-2, 1). The parabola opens downward, so the scale factor is negative.

The vertical change from the vertex is only a fraction of a unit when u differs from the vertex by 1. It is 1 unit when u differs from the vertex by 2, so the magnitude of the vertical scale factor is 1/2² = 1/4.

Our equation will be of the form ...

  m(u) = (vertical scale factor)(u - (horizontal vertex location))² + (vertical vertex location)

For this graph, the equation is ...

  m(u) = -0.25(u +2)² +1

or, simplifying, we get ...

  m(u) = -0.25u² -u

The polynomial is missing the coefficient of the third and last terms.
bulgar [2K]

In order to divide polynomials using synthetic division, you must be dividing by a linear expression and the leading coefficient (first number) must be a 1. For example, you can use synthetic division to divide by x + 3 or x – 6, but you cannot use synthetic division to divide by x2 + 2 or 3x2 – x + 7. If the leading coefficient is not a 1, then you must divide by the leading coefficient to turn the leading coefficient into a 1. For example, 3x – 1 would becomex minus 1/3 and 2x + 7 would becomex plus 7/2. If synthetic division will not work, then you must use long division.

A small school has three foreign language classes, one in French, one in Spanish, and one in German. How many of the 34 students
serg [7]

Answer:

Statement 1 is sufficient

And the solution is 12

Statement 2 is insufficient

Step-by-step explanation:

Statement 1 : There are 27 students enrolled in the French class,and 49 students enrolled in either the French class,the Spanish class,or both of these classes.

Let S = number of Spanish-only students

F = number of French-only students

B = number of students taking both, which is the number the prompt question wants.

Given that;

S + B = 34

F + B = 27

S + F + B = 49

The equations above are from the question and statement 1.

Solving for B, we have;

(S + B) + (F + B) = 34 + 27

B + S + B + F = 61

S + B + F = 49

B + 49 = 61

B = 61 - 49 = 12

Therefore statement 1 is sufficient to give a specific and numerical solution to the question.

Statement 2: One half of the students enrolled in the Spanish class are enrolled in more than one foreign language class.

The statement 2 states that half of the students enrolled in the Spanish class are also enrolled in one foreign language but did not specify which proportion or fraction of them are enrolled in german or french therefore a specific numerical solution cannot be derived from this statement.

Hence, statement 2 is insufficient.
