Find the rate of change of volume of a cone if dr/dt is 3 in./min. and h=4r when r = 8 inches
rewona [7]

Answer:

v =  \frac{1}{3}bh

since base is pi r^2

v =  \frac{1}{3} \pi \: r {}^{2} h

it's given that h=4r

v =  \frac{1}{3} \pi \: r^{2} (4r) =  \frac{4}{3} \pi \:  {r}^{3}

now find derivative

\frac{dv}{dt}  = 4\pi \: r {}^{2} × dr/dt

r=8 , dv/dt = 3

dv/dt = 4pi (8)^2 ×3 = 768pi

At the beginning of the bake sale, mary set aside 2 pies for herself. karen then bought half of the remaining pies for her birth
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

52.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of total pies before the bake sale started.

We have been given that at the beginning of the bake sale, Mary set aside 2 pies for herself.

So the pie left for sale will be x-2.

We are also told that Karen bought half of the remaining pies for her birthday party, so number of pies bought by Karen will be: \frac{x-2}{2}.

Further, we are told that 10 more pies were sold during the sale, so number of total pies sold and used by Mary will be:

2+\frac{x-2}{2}+10

As there were 15 pies remaining, so we can represent total number of pies in an equation as:

x=2+\frac{x-2}{2}+10+15

x=\frac{x-2}{2}+27

Let us have a common denominator.

x=\frac{x-2}{2}+\frac{27*2}{2}

x=\frac{x-2}{2}+\frac{54}{2}

x=\frac{x-2+54}{2}

x=\frac{x+52}{2}

Let us multiply both sides of our equation by 2.

2x=\frac{x+52}{2}*2

2x=x+52

2x-x=x-x+52

x=52

Therefore, there were 52 pies before the bake sale started.

How do I explain this
xenn [34]
This one is hard but I give it ago: so if Brad has got 4 chains and he made that in 1 hour and Velma can only make 3 chains in 1 hour but she has made 6 already. That means Velma has used 2 hours to make them 6 chains. So Brad if he does 2 hours that makes 12 chains,Then it Velma does 2 hours more she makes 12 chains as well. So they have the same amount of number.
Hopefully that helps :D
