\qquad \textit{Amount for Exponential Growth} \\\\ A=P(1 + r)^t\qquad \begin{cases} A=\textit{accumulated amount}\\ P=\textit{initial amount}\dotfill &250\\ r=rate\to 16\%\to \frac{16}{100}\dotfill &0.16\\ t=\textit{elapsed time} \end{cases} \\\\\\ A=250(1 + 0.16)^{t}\implies A=250(1.16)^t \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill

A=P(1 + r)^t\qquad \begin{cases} A=\textit{accumulated amount}\dotfill &1000\\ P=\textit{initial amount}\dotfill &250\\ r=rate\to 16\%\to \frac{16}{100}\dotfill &0.16\\ t=\textit{elapsed time} \end{cases} \\\\\\ 1000=250(1.16)^t\implies \cfrac{1000}{250}=1.16^t\implies 4=1.16^t \\\\\\ \log(4)=\log(1.16^t)\implies \log(4)=t\log(1.16) \\\\\\ \cfrac{\log(4)}{\log(1.16)}=t\implies \stackrel{\textit{about 9 years and 4 months}}{9.34\approx t}

qwelly [4]

when you multiply exponents, they add together and the base will remain the same:

-5+-2

=-7

therefore the answer is 8^-7

to get rid of the negative, flip the fraction so it becomes

1/8^7

Is the perimeter and area of the square always the same?
avanturin [10]
I think it would be because say you have a square and all the sides are 4. If you add all the sides you would get 16 for the perimeter. If you do 4 x 4 you would get 16 as the area. So i think they are the same but i am sometimes stupid so dont just take my word on it.
Hope this helps! :)

A penny a nickel a dime and a quarter are tossed. what is the probability of obtaining four tailsfour tails on the tosses?
Korvikt [17]
Probability  of a tail for any on coin = 1/2
As the  tosses of the 4 coins are independent of each other we multyiply the probs:-
P(4 tails) = 1/2 * 1/2*1/2*1/2 = 1/16

Explain in words, how you to find a solution for the following equation. 7 + x = 18
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

x=11 (read below)

Step-by-step explanation:

7 + x = 18

<em>Subtract 7 from both sides</em>

x=11

It's quite simple because if you do something to one side of the equation, you need to do it to the other because otherwise the equation won't be equal. This is how you need to simplify most problems, by taking something from one side and taking from the other as well.
