Trains depart after every 4 minutes.
Total time train takes to complete a circuit= 24 minutes
Evan sets off at 8:30 am, so  he will be back at 8:54 am.
So time of trains coming in opposite direction:
8: 34 am
8:38 am
8:42 am
8:46 am
and 8:50 am
5 trains coming in opposite directions.
Now the trains started at 8:06 am from the stations are:
8:06 am
8:10 am
8:14 am
8:18 am
8:22 am
and 8:26 am.
So there are 6 trains started the circuit at 8:06 am.

Now total number of trains=6+5=11 trains

Answer: 11 trains will pass on complete circuit.

A sample of bacteria is growing at a rate of 8% per hour compound continuously. How many hours will it take for the sample to do
Anettt [7]

Answer:

The sample would double in 9 hours

Step-by-step explanation

The number of hours it will take for the sample to double can be found using the 72 rule.

The 72 rule is such that a growth rate would double itself by it is used in dividing the number 72 as shown below:

number of hours =72/8=9 hours

The number of hours it would take the sample to double is 9 hours as computed above.

2x+4y=16 what is the slope intercept form
Eva8 [605]
Since slope intercept is y=mx+b, you first want to get rid of the 2x by subtracting it from both sides. after, you should end up with 4y=16-2x or 4y=-2x+16, they both are the same, but some teachers might prefer the slope first. after that, you want to get the y alone, so you divide everything by 4. you should end up with the slope intercept form being y=-2/4x+4, simplified to y=-1/2x+4.

The sales tax for an item was $23.40 and it cost $390 before tax.<br> Find the sales tax rate.
tatyana61 [14]

\huge \bf༆ Answer ༄

Sales tax on the item is ~

{ \qquad{ \sf{ \dashrightarrow}}} \: \: \sf \$23.40

Cost of the item is ~

{ \qquad{ \sf{ \dashrightarrow}}} \: \: \sf \$390

sale tax rate is ~

{ \qquad{ \sf{ \dashrightarrow}}} \: \: \sf \: \dfrac{ \$23.40}{ \$390} \times 100

{ \qquad{ \sf{ \dashrightarrow}}} \: \: \sf \: 0.06 \times 100

{ \qquad{ \sf{ \dashrightarrow}}} \: \: \sf \: 6 \%

Therefore, the sales tax rate is 6 %

11) A 12-sided dic is rolled. What is the probability of getting a multiple of 3 or a number less than 3?
dmitriy555 [2]

Answer:

6/12

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to find how many multiples of three there are, and how many numbers less than three there are on a 12 sided die.

Multiples of 3: 3, 6, 9 ,12

Less than 3: 2, 1

When calculating the probability of rolling a number, the actual number is arbitrary- instead, you need to know how many of numbers exist to fit the requirements. In this case, it's 6 total. Since there's 12 possibilities on a 12 sided die, the probability would be 6 out of 12. You could also simplify the fraction, but both are equivalent.

I hope this helps!
