Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He is the President that started the civil war because the South seceded from the union due to the Morrill tariff act which caused the South to pay 80% of the countries taxes despite them only being 30%of the population. This made trade with Britain difficult in the South and so they should seceded. Lincoln then began fighting to take back the South. Abraham Lincoln then freed slavery by creating the 13th amendment. I might have some facts wrong here but this is what I know.

What does the Civil War's Anaconda Plan entail?

The comical portrayal of General Winfield Scott's "Anaconda Plan" to choke the southern states by stopping cotton exports and all imports is found in Scott's Great Snake, which was first published at the start of the Civil War. On inland rivers, blockading fleets were also utilized to support Union military operations.

koban [17]

Among the executive branch is checks on the legislative branch is the president‘s power to veto any legislation passed by the legislative branch. The president has two types of veto he can use. One is veto, which vetoes the whole legislation, which would then have a re-vote by the legislative branch. The other is line-item veto, in which the president vetoes parts of the bill, but not the whole thing.
