Based on his body weight and height, the basal metabolic rate of Rick can be calculated using the Harris-Benedict Equation.

What is basal metabolic rate or BMR?

Basal metabolic rate is the energy expenditure by the body when the body is at rest or not active such as when sleeping.

Basal metabolic rate is also known as resting metabolic rate.

The basal metabolic rate of an individual depends on the body size and weight, gender and age of the individual.

The Harris-Benedict Equation is often used to estimate basal metabolic rate.

 • For Men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight in kg) + (4.799 x height in cm) - (5.677 x age in years)
 • For Women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight in kg) + (3.098 x height in cm) - (4.330 x age in years)

Therefore, the basal metabolic rate of Rick can be calculated using the Harris-Benedict Equation.

Citrus2011 [14]
I'm not 100% certain because i know that doctors give folic acid to both a and b. However, I'm going to say C because the folic acid is putting a liner on your stomach so that when you do get pregnant there will be protection from certain medications. I hope this is the right answer for you.

What is a risk/benefit assessment? Why is it important?
Kamila [148]
The risk-benefit assessment is widely used in the field of medicine. Apart from being therapeutic, it is a known fact that synthetic medicines also carry side effects. However, if the healthcare provider believes that a certain medication outweighs the side effects, then he or she will prescribe the said medicine. This is the very reason why the concept of risk-benefit is truly vital.

_______ put people at a high risk for developing arthritis.
Neko [114]
Honestly, I'm not positive myself. All I can say is that overworking your joints without enough cool-down time will put you at high risk for arthritis.
