Simple,

Total=110
Superheroes in comic books=82

Take 82/110

which equals 0.74545, then, take that and multiply by 100

making it 74.5 (rounded). Thus,

74.5% of the books feature superheroes.

A great way to check though is take the remaining 28, and do the same thing. Take 28/110

making it 0.254545, then, take that and multiply by 100

making it 25.5 (rounded)

Add 74.5+25.5=100

Your answer is correct.

So,

Josh has 110 comic books total, and 82 of them feature superheroes.  To find the percentage, just divide 82 by 110.

\frac{82}{110} = \frac{2*41}{2*5*11} = \frac{41}{55}

\frac{41}{55}=0.7\overline{45}

To convert to a percent, just move the decimal place two places to the left and add a percent sign.

0.7\overline{45} --\ \textgreater \ 74.\overline{54}\ percent

Rounding, we get:

75%

So about 75% of Josh's comic books feature superheroes.

You have been asked to design a circular practice running track for your school’s track team. The track will have one lane that
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

50.2655 m2 of grass turf to the interior center area.

62.8319 m2 of asphalt to the running lane.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the diameter of the interior center is 8 meters, its radius is 8/2 = 4 meters.

So, the area of the interior center is:

Area = pi * r^2 = pi * 4^2 = 50.2655 m2

It will be needed 50.2655 m2 of grass turf to the interior center area.

To find the area of the running lane (for the asphalt), we just need to subtract the area of a circle with 6 meters of radius (4 m from the interior circle plus 2 m from the width of the lane) from the area of the interior circle (radius = 4):

Area of lane = pi * 6^2 - pi * 4^2 = 62.8319 m2

It will be needed 62.8319 m2 of asphalt to the running lane.
