Answer:

31

Step-by-step explanation:

3x + 12 and 105 are alternate exterior angles because A || B and B || C.

If the two or more lines are parallel, then the alternate exterior angles are equal.

3x + 12 = 105

Substract 12 on both sides,

3x = 105 - 12

3x = 93

Divide 3 on both sides,

x = 93 / 3

x = 31

Radda [10]

Answer:

It landed at a height of 14 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

y = -\frac{1}{8}x^2 +4x --- Path of a t-shirt

3y = 2x - 14 --- height of bleachers

Required

Height when t-shirts land in bleachers

3y = 2x - 14

Make y the subject

y = \frac{2}{3}x - \frac{14}{3}

Substitute y = \frac{2}{3}x - \frac{14}{3} in  y = -\frac{1}{8}x^2 +4x

\frac{2}{3}x - \frac{14}{3} =  -\frac{1}{8}x^2 +4x

Multiply through by 24

16x- 112 = -3x^2 +96x

Express as:

3x^2 + 16x  -96x- 112 = 0

3x^2 -80x- 112 = 0

Using a calculator:

x = 28 or x = -\frac{4}{3}

x can not be negative:

So:

x = 28

Substitute x = 28 in y = -\frac{1}{8}x^2 +4x to calculate the height it landed

y = -\frac{1}{8} * 28^2 + 4 * 28

y = 14

A pizza cutter has an area of 64cm2. It turns 4 TIMES to cross a large pizza. What is the area of the pizza? Please SHOW your wo
laiz [17]
Well, I'm assuming you haven't had your question answered yet in these 58 minutes. I'm not 100% sure but I would think that you would do the reverse of the equation to find the area of a circle to find the radius of the pizza cutter. So you would find the radius using the equation A=\pi r r^{2} to figure out the RADIUS. THEN, you would plug in the radius into the equation C=\pir^{2} to figure out the circumference. Next, you would multiply the circumference by 4. This would give you the diameter of the pizza. Finally, you would plug in the diameter of the pizza into this equation: A=\pir^{2} to find the area of the pizza. I am pretty sure this would work and there's probably an easier way that I don't know about. Assuming you get this in time, good luck! :)

What is the difference and what is their value?
anastassius [24]

Answer:

Look below.

Step-by-step explanation:

For one, g+g+g+g does not equal g^4. That equals g·g·g·g.

But like you said, 4g = g·g·g·g as well, so shouldn't they be equal?

The answer is more simple than you might expect:

We'll do the second one first. I don't know why, that is just how it is going to be done.

Let's assign a value to 'g'. We'll call it g = 3.

3 to the 4th power is

1) 3·3 = 9

2) 9·3 = 27

3) 27·3 = 81.

So g^{4} = 81.

But, you probably figured out, with g = 3, that 4g = 12, since 3·4 = 12.

Obviously, 81 ≠ 27, meaning these are not the same, and that is the main difference.
