Answer:

1) x = 2 and y = -2

2) x = 6 and y = 5

3) x = 2 and y = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

1) 3x + y = 4

since y = -x subtitute it in the equation

3x + (-x) = 4

3x - x = 4

2x = 4

x = 4\2

x = 2

y = -2

2) 4x - y = 19

since y = x - 1 subtitute it in the equation

4x - (x - 1) = 19

4x - x + 1 = 19

3x = 19 - 1

3x = 18

x = 18\3

x = 6

y = 6 - 1 = 5

3) y = 3x - 10

y - 3x = -10

since 2x + y = 0

thus y = -2x subtitute in equation

-2x - 3x = -10

-5x = -10

x = -10\-5

x = 2

y = -2 * 2 = -4

Please help.
Is algebra.
Veronika [31]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The first one is a binomial. It has two different terms on either side of the middle minus sign. y is raised to the 4 th power so that is degree 4. The answer is b

The second problem is ordered as 4 3 1 2

The powers determine the degree. The terms are all different and the number of terms is determined by the powers of the letters in the terms.

A. He refused to testify by invoking his Fifth Amendment rights, so he must be guilty. a. Identify the premise and conclusion o
mixer [17]

Answer:

a) C.

b) B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember that the premise is a statement that will led to a conclusion and justifies it.

a) In the sentence "He refused to testify by invoking his Fifth Amendment rights, so he must be guilty" the premise is: "He refused to testify by invoking his Fifth Amendment rights" because it follows from this that, therefore, he must be guilty (by not testifying, the person who said this reaches the conclusion that he must be guilty).

Thus, the correct answer is C.

b) Briefly describe how the stated fallacy occurs in the argument.

In this argument, the conclusion leaves no place for another outcome (because the conclusion is that he MUST be guilty), therefore it is stated as if being guilty is the only possible conclusion.

Thus, the correct answer is B.

2logb - 3logb = log8b - log4b
Elden [556K]

Answer:

b=1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

2logb - 3logb = log8b - log4b

logb^{2} - logb^{3} = log8b - log4b

log(\frac{1}{b}) = log(2)

∴1/b = 2

∴b = 1/2
