Q out = Q in

Q mix = Q water

mcΔt sand + mcΔt water = mcΔt water

30.2 x 2.01 x (29.3-12.1) + 87.7 x 4.19 x (29.3-12.1)=m x 4.19 x (85.8-29.3)

1044.07+6320.36=m x 236.74

m = 31.11 g

When two objects interact, the change in momentum of the first object is ______ the change in momentum of the second object.
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

A. Equal to and Opposite

Explanation:

           when there is no External force acting on the system of bodies then Net momentum of the system is Conserved .

        Given that there are 2 bodies

         Let  P₁ as first object's momentum

                  P₂ as second object's momentum.

                  Total Momentum =P₁ + P₂

           As there is no external force acying on the system

                 Change in the Total momentum is zero

so,

                  0 = Δ P₁ + ΔP₂

                   ΔP₂ = -ΔP₁

                   negative sign indicates opposite direction.

                       Both are of equal magnitude.

The Bullet Train The Shinkansen, the Japanese "bullet" train, runs at high speed from Tokyo to Nagoya. Riding on the Shinkansen,
jeyben [28]

Answer:

68.6 m/s

Explanation:

v = Speed of sound in air = 343 m/s

u = Speed of train

f_1 = Actual frequency

From the Doppler effect we have the observed frequency as

When the train is approaching

f=f_1\frac{v+u}{v}

When the train is receeding

\frac{2f}{3}=f_1\frac{v-u}{v}

Dividing the above equations we have

\frac{f}{\frac{2f}{3}}=\frac{f_1\frac{v+u}{v}}{f_1\frac{v-u}{v}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{3}{2}=\frac{v+u}{v-u}\\\Rightarrow 3v-3u=2v+2u\\\Rightarrow v=5u\\\Rightarrow u=\frac{v}{5}\\\Rightarrow u=\frac{343}{5}\\\Rightarrow u=68.6\ m/s

The speed of the train is 68.6 m/s
