There are 300 seconds between the bell to the end of first and the bell to begin second period. A student exits his first period

class immediately after the bell to end first period and enters the doorway of the second period class at the moment the bell to begin second period rings. He travels the route contained in the chart provided. What is the students average velocity?

The average velocity is a vector magnitude we can find that its value is:

           v = 3.63 10-2 m/ s

with a direction 74 to the South of the East

Giving parameters

  • The tabulated displacements
  • The time of the motion t = 300 s

To find

  • Average speed

The velocity in a vector quantity that is defined as the change in displacement between time during the interval

               v = \frac{\Delta s}{\Delta t}

Where v is the veloicity, Δs and Δt are de positivo and time variation

To find the displacement let's use the Pythagoras'  theorem

           d = \sqrt{(\Delta x)^2 + (\Delta y)^2}

We assume that the displacements to the right (east) and upwards (north) are positive

          Δx = 17-14

          Δx = 3 m

          Δy = 12 -22.5

          Δy = -10.5 m

The distance traveled is

          d = \sqrt{3^2 + 10.5^2 }

          d = 10.9 m

The speed module is

          v = 10.9 / 300

           v = 3.63 10⁻² m / s

The direction of this velocity is given by the angle of this displacement can be found using trigonometry

           tan θ = \frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}

           θ = tan⁻¹ \frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}

           θ = tan⁻¹ \frac{-10.5}{3}

           θ = -74º

This angle is measured clockwise from the positive side of the x-axis.

Orea way to give this angle is

             θ = 74 south of East

In conclusion the average speed is

           v = 3.63 10-2 m / s

With a direction 74 to the South of the East

A football is left on the field outside during the winter months, the next morning the football was partially deflated. Using wh
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

B

Volume decreases due to less molecular motion of the gas inside the football.

Explanation:

Assuming that the atmospheric pressure (and therefore, the pressure of the air inside the football) remains constant, this means that we can apply Charle's law, which states that:

"For a fixed amount of gas kept at constant pressure, the volume of the gas is proportional to its absolute temperature"

Mathematically:

\frac{V}{T}=const.

where

V is the volume of the gas

T is its absolute temperature

In the winter month, the air becomes colder, which means that the temperature of the air (and of the gas inside the football) decreases. As the average kinetic energy of the molecules of a gas is proportional to its absolute temperature, this also means that there will be less molecular motion in the gas, and therefore (as stated by Charle's law) the volume of the gas also decreases.

ella [17]

Answer:38.675 m/s

Explanation:

\theta =25^{\circ}

t=4.2 s

R_x=105m

Solving in x direction

R_x=ut+\frac{1}{2}\left ( 0\right )t^2

105=ucos25\times 4.2

ucos25=25

u=27.584 m/s

Initial velocity in vertical direction usin25

Let h be the height of Rooftop

h=\left ( -usin25\right )4.2+\frac{1}{2} \left ( 9.8\right )\left ( 4.2\right )^2

h=37.47 m

Therefore final vertical velocity is v_{vf}^2-\left ( usin25\right )^2=2\times 9.81\times 37.47

v_{vf}=29.51 m/s

Final Resultant velocity

V_{final}=\sqrt{29.51^2+24.99^2}

V_{final}=38.675 m/s
