Answer:

v-rel = 16.8

Make sure to read the explaination so you can solve it yourself!

Explanation:

I had this same question on Acellus, here is how I answered it:

Equation being used:   Δf = 2*fο*vrel/c

( this equation can be found in the  bottom of the lesson manual in the help tab)

Where,

Δf = change in frequency; 672

fο = frequency before being doppler shifted; 6.00 * 10^9

vrel = relative velocity; unknown

c = speed of light; 3.00 * 10^8

Now that we have written the numbers we know down, we must rearrange the equation for the velocity (vrel)

Starting Equation:

Δf = 2*fο*vrel/c

Multiply by c, then divide by 2fo to isolate vrel.

This will leave us with the equation:

Δfc/2fo, now we plug in the numbers

(672 * (3*10^8)) / (2* (6.00*10^9))

Once we plug this into the calculator, you should get

16.8

I hope this helped you, Wawawewa!

Lowering an object decrease is potential
Tresset [83]

Answer:

Lowering the object near the ground decreases its <u>potential energy.</u>

<u></u>

Explanation:

Potential Energy : Energy possessed by the object due to its shape ,Size and Position is called potential energy.

Example :

Change in shape and size :  When  you compress the spring , potential energy is introduced in it . So it expand quickly when you remove your hand.

Change in position : when you swing , after attaining maximum height (extreme ends) , the swing comes back on its on .This is because at maximum height ,the swing has<u> maximum Potential energy . </u>Hence it fall back on its on because it already has potential energy.

Potential energy(P) is given by the formula :

P = mgh

where ,

m= mass of the object

g = acceleration due to gravity

h = height of the object from the ground

If the height of the object increases from the ground , its potential energy also get increase.

<u><em>On lowering the object The height of the object from the ground reduces . So potential energy also reduces.</em></u>

How many miles can you drive, if your car gets 21.3 miles per gallon and you have 12.0 gallons of gas?
Travka [436]

Answer:

255.6

Explanation:

If you have 12 gallons and get 21.3mpg,

-Multiply 21.3 by 12

-you can travel 255.6 miles before running out of gas.

-If you need to estimate, round up to 256 miles.

A 1.450 g sample of an unknown organic compound , X, is dissolved in 15.0 g of toluene
muminat

Answer:

Molecular weight of the compound = 372.13 g/mol

Explanation:

Depression in freezing point is related with molality of the solution as:

\Delta T_f = K_f \times m

Where,

\Delta T_f = Depression in freezing point

K_f = Molal depression constant

m = Molality

\Delta T_f = K_f \times m

1.33 = 5.12 \times m

m = 0.26

Molality = \frac{Moles\ of\ solute}{Mass\ of\ solvent\ in\ kg}

Mass of solvent (toluene) = 15.0 g = 0.015 kg

0.26 = \frac{Mole\ of\ compound}{0.015}

Moles of compound = 0.015 × 0.26 = 0.00389 mol

Mol = \frac{Mass\ in\ g}{Molecular\ weight}

Mass of the compound = 1.450 g

Molecular\ weight = \frac{Mass\ in\ g}{Moles}

Molecular weight = \frac{1.450}{0.00389} = 372.13\ g/mol
