The area of the tablecloth showing is approximately 45.55 square feet

<h3>What is an area?</h3>

The space occupied by any two-dimensional figure in a plane is called the area. The space occupied by the circle in a two-dimensional plane is called as the area of the circle.

It is given that:-

The diameter of the dinner table, D = 8 feet

The diameter of each plate, d = 1 feet

The number of people at the dinner table = 6 people

The number of plates = 6 plates

The area of the table cloth, A₁ = π·D²/4

∴ A₁ = π × 8²/4

The area covered by the 6 plates, A₂ = 6·π·d²/4

A₂ = 6 × π × 1²/4

Let 'A' represent the area of the tablecloth showing when the table is set for six people, we have;

A = A₁ - A₂

∴ A = π × 8²/4 - 6 × π × 1²/4 ≈ 45.55 ft.²

Therefore the area of the tablecloth showing when the table is set for six people, A ≈ 45.55 ft.²

Solve the system of linear equations by using the substitution method. Write your answer as a coordinate/point. (20 points)
Inessa [10]

Answer:

(1,10)

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute the value of y so you get -5x+15=-2x+12.  Then solve you get x=1. Substitute x as 1 in the equation y=-2x+12 so you get y=10

poizon [28]

Answer:

2nd and 3rd ordered pair are on the graph

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute the x- coordinate into the equation and if the value obtained is equal to the y- coordinate then it lies on the graph.

(1, 625 )

f(1) = - 25^{1+1} = - 25^{2} = - 625 ≠ 625 ← No

(0, - 25 )

f(0) = - 25^{0+1} = - 25^{1} = - 25 ← Yes

(- 1, - 1 )

f(- 1) = - 25^{-1+1} = - 25^{0} = - 1 ← Yes [ using a^{0} = 1 ]

E Solve for x 6(x - 1) = 9(x + 2) x = -8 x= 3 x = 8
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

x = -8

Step-by-step explanation:

6(x - 1) = 9(x + 2)

Expand :

6(x  -  1) = 6x  -  6 \\ 9(x  +  2) = 9x + 18

6x - 6 = 9x + 18

Collect like terms and simplify

6x - 9x = 18 + 6 \\  - 3x = 24

Divide both sides of the equation by -3

\frac{ - 3x}{ - 3}  =  \frac{24}{ - 3}  \\ x =  - 8
