Answer:

B.  The mean would increase.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Median is the middle value when the values are placed in order from smallest to largest.  If there are two middle values, the median is halfway between them.

<u>Median for first three weeks</u>

$100, $125, $125

Therefore, the median is $125

<u>Median for 4 weeks</u>

$100, $125, $125, $125

Therefore, the median is ($125 + $125) ÷ 2 = $125

Therefore, the median has stayed the same

The Mean is the total of the numbers divided by how many numbers there are.

<u>Mean for first three weeks</u>

($100 + $125 + $125) ÷ 3 = $116.67

<u />

<u>Mean for 4 </u>

<u>weeks</u>

($100 + $125 + $125 + $125) ÷ 4 = $118.75

Therefore, the mean has increased.

Answer:

B) The mean would increase.

Given:

<u>Week 1</u>: $125, <u>Week 2</u>: $100, <u>Week 3</u>: $125, <u>Week 4</u>: $125

Formula's Applied:

\boxed{\sf  Mean= \dfrac{sum \ of \ terms}{number \ of \ terms}}

Mean without Week 4:

  • (125+100+125)/3 = 350/3 = $116.67
  • Mean: $<em>116.67</em>

Mean with Week 4:

  • (125+100+125+125)/4 = $118.75
  • Mean: $<em>118.75</em>

Median without Week 4:

  • $125, $100, $125

<u>arrange them ascendingly</u>

  • $100, $125, $125
  • Median: $<em>125</em>

Median with Week 4:

  • $125, $100, $125, $125

<u>arrange them ascendingly</u>

  • $100, $125, $125, $125
  • Median: (125+125)/2 = $<em>125</em>

Find the equation of the line that passes through (4,8) with slope -3. write in slope intercept form
ikadub [295]

you have to put it in Point Slope Form.

ABOUT POINT SLOPE FORM:

  • y- Y1 = m(x - X1)
  • Y1 & X1 is a point on the line
  • The form allows you to identify the slope & the point on the line

ABOUT PROBLEM:

  • Since the slope is -3, it represents m in the Point Slope Form
  • 4 represents X1
  • 8 represents Y1

y - Y1 = m(x - X1)

y - 8 = -3(x - 4) --- IN Point Slope Form

If you want to put it in Slope Intercept Form, you can solve it:

y - 8 = -3(x - 4)

y - 8 = -3x + 12

  + 8          + 8

y = -3x + 20 --- IN Slope Intercept Form

  • Remember, a negative times a negative becomes a positive

1) Compare the function with the parent function. without graphing, what are the vertex, axis of symmetry and transformations of
Mama L [17]
I guess the parent function to be: y = |8x|.

To translate a function m units to the right, you must substitute x by x-m. You had y = |8x|. You substitute x by x-1/4, to get:

y = |8(x-1/4)| = |8x-2|

So, the function was translated to the  right 1/4 unit.

To translate a function vertically n units, you add (translate up) or subtract (translate down) m to the function. You had y = |8x-2|. You subtract 7 to get:

y = |8x-2|-7

Hence, the parent function was translated 7 units down.

The vertex is the point where the content of the absolute value changes its sign, that is, the where it equals zero:

8x-2 = 0 <=> x=1/4

The x coordinate of the vertex is therefore x=1/4. To calculate the y coordinate of the vertex, you must substitute the x coordinate in the equation of the function, to get:

x=1/4 => y = |8(1/4)-2| - 7 = -7

The vertex is, therefore, (1/4,-7).

Finally, the axis of symmetry is a vertical line through the vertex: x=1/4 (the equation of a vertical line is of the form x=a).

The correct answer is D).

The dog house consists of two geometric objects, triangular prism and rectangular prism.

First, find the surface area of triangular prism
The triangular prism consists of
base of triangle (b) = 3 ft
height of triangle (h) = 2.5 ft
height of prism or length of rectangle (l) = 4 ft
side of triangle or width of rectangle (w) = 2.5 ft

Now, calculate the area
area of tp = area of two triangle + area of 2 rectangle
area of tp = (2 × 1/2 × b × h) + (2 × l × w)
area of tp = (2 × 1/2 × 3 × 2) + (2 × 4 × 2.5)
area of tp = 6 + 20
area of tp = 26 ft²

Second, find the surface area of rectangular prism
The rectangular prisms consists of
length (l) = 3 ft
width (w) = 4 ft
height (h) = 2 ft

Now, calculate the area
area of rp = area of back and front rectangle + area of left and right rectangle
area of rp = (2 × l × h) + (2 × w × h)
area of rp = (2 × 3 × 2) + (2 × 4 × 2)
area of rp = 12 + 16
area of rp = 28 ft²

Third, add both of the area
area = area of tp + area of rp
area = 26 + 28
area = 54 ft²

The area of the dog house is 54 ft
