                 Solve the following \mathrm{2(x+3)=x-4}.

\large\blue\textsf{\textbf{\underline{\underline{Answer and How to Solve:-}}}}

  First of all, we can remove the parentheses by multiplying 2 times x and 3:-

        \mathrm{2x+6=x-4}

Now that we removed the parentheses, the rest is a piece of cake, as long as we pay attention to the signs, and here's what I mean by that.

       Subtract x on both sides:-

\mathrm{2x-x+6=-4}

On simplification, we get

   \mathrm{x+6=-4}

Now we subtract 6 on both sides, which results in

 \mathrm{x=-4-6}

And finally,

\mathrm{x=-10}

<u>[Verification]</u>

<u />

We can substitute -10 for x and see whether or not we end up with a true statement.

\mathrm{2(-10+3)=-10-4}

Perform the operation inside the parentheses first:-

\mathrm{2(-7)=-14}

On simplification, we get

\mathrm{-14=-14}

      Since the left-hand side (L.H.S.) is the same as the right-hand side (R.H.S), our solution (x=-10) is correct.

<h3>Good luck.</h3>

1 over the square root of 8 = 4^(m − 2)?
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

5.5

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{1}{ \sqrt{8} }  =  {4}^{(m - 2)}  \\

Squaring both sides

\frac{1}{8}  =  {4}^{2(m - 2)} \\   \frac{1}{8} =   {4}^{2}   \times  {4}^{(m - 2)}  \\  \frac{1}{8 \times  {4}^{2} }  =  {4}^{(m - 2)}  \\   \frac{1}{8 \times 16}  =  {4}^{(m - 2)}  \\  \frac{1}{128}  =  {4}^{(m - 2)}  \\  log_{4}(128)  = (m - 2) \\  \frac{7}{2}  = m - 2 \\ m =  \frac{11}{2}  = 5.5

A helicopter hovers 500 m above a long straight road. There is a truck to the left and right of the helicopter. The angles of de
vivado [14]

Answer:

1045.01 rounded to the nearest hundredth

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we can draw this out. The angle of depression is the angle formed by the object at the top and the line formed by the object at the top and the object at the bottom.

If the truck on the left is truck A and the truck on the right is truck B, with the helicopter being the circle on top, there is one 60 degree angle of depression and one 20 degree one. If we make a point at the point in the road the helicopter is straight above, and we connect the points, we can form two right triangles, as shown. If we can calculate the lengths of sides x and y, we can add them up to find the length between the two trucks.

Starting with side x, we know one angle and the side length adjacent to that angle. We want to find the length opposite that angle. One formula that encompasses this is tan(θ) = opposite/adjacent. Therefore, tan(60) = x/500

tan(60) = x/500

multiply both sides by 500 to isolate the x

tan(60) * 500 = x

x = 866.0254

Similarly, with side y, we can say that tan(20) = y/500 and

tan(20) * 500 = y

y= 181.9851

The distance between the two trucks can be shown as x+y, so x+y= 1045.01 rounded to the nearest hundredth
